Re: OFFICIAL - Arena construction

Just like to pull people's chain sometimes.

By the way I am a grandpa so I do not take that as an insult.

You got to come up with a better attack name than that for me.

Re: OFFICIAL - Arena construction

Since they are buying land they have to have the funds to do it. Still curious about what kind of shaft the City will get with the AEG deal.

2005 Predictions

My statement aboved mentioned MSL as going belly up. I am sorry. It should have been MISL, or Major Indoor Soccer League. The MSL, the league that the Wizards play in, should be around for awhile. It appears that they have a better record than the old NASL (I believe that was the league name the KC ...

Chiefs Tix Prices - too high?

You don't need "really good DT's out there to replace Sims or Browning", "JUST GOOD" DT's.

Prediction: KC Outlaws go belly-up

If possible, the Outlaws (if they are around) should play in the AHL next year. Again, for "a knowledgeable person" you sure don't know very much. The Outlaws can't just move to the AHL. The AHL currently has 30 teams owned by 30 different owners. As Steve Martin use to say "well, ex...

2005 Predictions

The year is only four days old, it's not over yet. Her Highness can still change her mind. KCP, you overlooked my prediction on the ABA and MSL going belly up. It hasn't happened yet but 2 out of 9 teams are not completing the MSL season. It won't be long now for the MSL. Gimmie a break. I still hav...

Re: OFFICIAL - Arena construction

According to the paper this morning they were CLOSE ENOUGH to finalizing a contract that they decided to impose the fees now.
Haven't they been close for some time now??????????????????

Fees being imposed and no contract with AEG. Where is our protection now?

Re: OFFICIAL - Arena construction

It is my guess that AEG is drawing out the negotiation process. The longer this process lasts the stronger position it has. After all the City needs AEG's $50 million more than AEG needs the building. That is why I felt it was prudent for the City to have a contract with AEG before the vote and vote...

Re: Seville Square

P.S.---Move the movie theaters (Cinemark) in Seville Square to another location on the Plaza. Perhaps Highwoods should build a new multi level theater complex exclusively to accomodate them. This move by Cinemark would free up space in Seville Square for Russell Stover restaurants and shops. Does H...

Prediction: KC Outlaws go belly-up

It is only interesting in that people believe what these teams actually announce for attendance. Probably the same who believe pro wrestling is real.

Re: OFFICIAL - Arena construction

No, that is not my suggestion. Just don't trust Her Highness MKB and AEG and Tim L are better city slickers than anyone on our side of the table. Don't forget, we need them more than they need us.

Prediction: KC Outlaws go belly-up

In terms of average attendance, the Outlaws are in the middle, at 2,884. Take away the attendance that was announced for their first game and their numbers will drop. Again I would be interested in what the numbers are: of those that are actually in the building, with tickets not workers of the num...

Re: OFFICIAL - Arena construction

The fees on hotels and rental cars started yesterday without a final contract with AEG. I don't agree with this...the public was told no fees would be collected until a final contact was signed. And you wondered why I had my doubts. However, since they are already purchasing land they do need to ha...

Prediction: KC Outlaws go belly-up

Do you think with Omaha and Des Moines getting a team will hurt the ticket purchase even more because they aren't that far away and some people from those 2 cities will buy tickets? Outlaw fans are few and almost 100% are local. What would help though is if KC were in the AHL and would play teams f...

Re: Blades attendance

For someone who calls himself "a knowledgeable person", you sure don't know very much. The Blades averaged more than 7,000 their first three seasons, more than 6,700 the next two and more than 5,100 the final five years. http://www.hockeyresearch.com/mfoster/business/ihl_attn.html There i...

2005 Predictions

My 2005 predictions: QueSi2Opie will see the light and get a revelation and become a conservative after seeing the error in the ways of liberals. KCDevin finally awakes and realizes that a city is more than population and building heights. The Royals have 3 20 game winners and win the World Series o...

Prediction: KC Outlaws go belly-up

So what did the Blades do right during their first several years? I wasn't living here then, but from what I've read, they were drawing 10K or more at many games. If that's true -- and correct me if it's not -- was it because they were fielding a competitive team? Savvy marketing? Both? Something e...

The Star: Pull Union Station out of mediocrity

Bingo. Fang is right on. People talk about reestablishing the City's connection to the river. Well, Kansas city also has quite a history with trains. The area still has one of the highest train traffic hubs in the nation. Excursion trains are quite popular around the country and I believe it would a...
