I thought we were going to get Munsoned into high rates. Looks pretty reasonable to me. Tanqueray and Tab, and keep 'em comin'.

Re: Big XII Basketball
No road game in the Big XII is easy, especially against the top half of the conference. I'm still impressed by Baylor and hope they aren't penalized too much for losing a tough road game against a much improved OU (or the brutal schedule they've endured for 3 weeks). If Baylor can swing 3 of their...

Re: Big XII Basketball
2nd round to USC. I could see KSU being last year's UT or the 2003 Syracuse squad. Like Max said, their consistency is still an issue...not necessarily just off big games, they need to learn to play on the road better...which obviously is kind of a big deal in March. '03 Syracuse was 10-1 to end ...

Re: New AMTRAK route between Kansas City and Oklahoma City
I've always thought Lawrence should take it one step further. If they could convince Village West and Union Station that a 4-6 times daily commuter line is a good idea, they could accomplish a number of positive things. It would encourage people to live in Lawrence and commute to KC for work (or K...

Re: Big XII Basketball
Roy won't let UNC in the same bracket as KU. He pitched a fit in 2005 when we were in the same bracket. That said, there is no team I'd rather face come crunch time.
Beasley vs. Gordon = KSU by 10 (especially without Sampson on the bench). KSU's defense is underrated.

Re: Big XII Basketball
We only have two games against Pomeroy top 50 teams remaining while KSU, Texas, and aTm each have 5. This should be an entertaining finish and a really competitive tournament. (For those curious, KSU is 1-1 in away top 50 games with 3 such games remaining; MU is 0-4 with 4 such games remaining; Me...

Re: Big XII Basketball
As far as ku goes, Arthur SHOULD be a go to guy on talent alone and he's nothing more than a role player. Rush, Chalmers, and Jackson aren't even first round projections at this point. Since when do role players lead the team in scoring? Darrell not only leads KU in scoring, but also averages mor...

Re: Big XII Basketball
KU sucks! What kind of "elite" teams lose a whopping 2 games this late in the season? At 23-1, KU was a good team. But now they're 23-2, and they SUCK! They've cross the line. They lost a second game. Kansas sucks. & Just some numbers... I think KU fans are freaking out too much. 2...

Re: Local 2008 primary/caucus information
Powercat obviously skipped over Bobbyhawk's post, which is what I responded to. Try again, Powercat. And get back to me with something better. I was posing a question to the forum, not stating an opinion. I think it is possible, if not inevitable to a small degree, that race has played an issue i...

Re: Local 2008 primary/caucus information
Bill and Hillary just had to pump $5 million of their own cash into her campaign. Does anyone see this as a sign of weakness? Obama raised over $30 million last month to Hillary's $10 million or so (not too sure about the numbers there). I really see a sea change of support for Obama and think th...

Re: Wizards 2007
The US was actually quite fortunate to come away with a draw. Mexico was the better side. As far as the Dempsey offside, I read on another board that the offside flag was up for quite awhile but the referee didn't see it and let play continue. I need to check out my recording tonight to verify. I ...

Re: Local 2008 primary/caucus information
HELL, yeah. I did not come dressed for the length of time we were standing in line. We ended up having to go across the street to the synagogue. Some random Obama volunteer kept making wrong announcements. When the actual caucus guy showed up to tell us what to do, he said that there were more ...

Re: Local 2008 primary/caucus information
Fitting quote from the movie "Network": "'I'M AS MAD AS HELL, AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!' I want you to get up right now, sit up, go to your windows, open them and stick your head out and yell - 'I'm as mad as hell and I'm not going to take this anymore!' Things have got ...

Re: Local 2008 primary/caucus information
While the Caucus is new for Kansas, I think it is a much better nominating system than a straight up vote. Say I am a Republican (which I'm not), and I vote for Ron Paul. That vote will only count if Ron Paul wins Kansas, which isn't close to likely. But say they give me a chance to say, "if...

Re: Most Affordable Hybrid Vehicles
Hybrids recharge the electric battery when you stop, so they will usually get better mileage in the city than on the highway, so long as you don't stomp on the gas when the light turns green. I'm looking at buying Priuses - hopefully a 2007 or 2006. How much under the sticker price should I be payi...

Re: Big XII Basketball
Agreed. Looking at their schedule, KSU has a lot of games they should win coming up - two games against Mizzou, two against Nebraska, at Texas Tech and OSU at home. They could be 21-4 (11-0) after that, ahead of KU in the standings and easily a top ten team if they can handle those lower rung teams...

Re: Big XII Basketball
Congrats to KSU. Hopefully, they get the national cred they deserve. It will be interesting to see how both teams handle the results of this game. I expect KSU will take care of business, though no Big XII game is a gimme. KU is a great defensive field goal percentage team, but this stat doesn't...

Re: Barack Obama in Kansas City Tues, Jan 29th!!
There is a surface lot next to the Lyric (just North of the Marriot) that is $5 a pop. There is also covered parking just to the East (between Wyandotte and Baltimore) for $10 and to the West of City Center for $10-$12. I'm sure the street parking nearby will be packed, but you may have luck with...
