Re: World Cup 2026 at Arrowhead?
Nah, Ticketmaster is just that easy to get around for bots to just grab. You can't "underprice" tickets when you brag about wanting it to be affordable. They've made their bed & they're ready to sleep in it without a good majority of their fanbase. Going to be interesting to see how t...

Re: World Cup 2026 at Arrowhead?
If scalpers did buy up most of those tickets then SKC underpriced the tickets.

Re: New Chiefs Stadium
Seriously doubt a roof is in the plans for Arrowhead. Maybe if a new stadium is built in 25 years that will be a different story. Was the weather a factor in the game? Yes, it was a factor for both teams but it didn't affect the final outcome of the game. Yes, the Chiefs hadn't been playing their be...

Re: Fantasy Retrofits: Barney Allis Plaza
Ok. The President was in worse shape and abandoned. The Muehlebach is in better condition and the bottom floor is used. You say that is apples to oranges, which, sure, could be true, but what point are you making by saying they're different. Are you saying the Muehlebach can't be restored because i...

Re: Fantasy Retrofits: Barney Allis Plaza
Of course it was many decades, a short time after closing, ago but as I remember it to put the old hotel into usable condition, without room size modifications, was at a prohibitive cost. Even modernizing to hotel rooms to then current standards would have complicated the remodel and again a prohibi...

Re: World Cup 2026 at Arrowhead?
The top three items for sports teams are money, money, money. And the fourth item is more money. What would be an interesting comparison would be the team's average revenue per game vs what the team will make at Arrowhead with Messi.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
According to what the Chiefs have said. For now that is what they are planning on.Highlander wrote: ↑Fri Dec 15, 2023 11:44 am
What makes you think Arrowhead is usable for another 25 years? It was renovated in 2010 and already needs another renovation according to the Chief's ownership. Usable needs to be qualified.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
I could see 71% voting against it right now. Had lunch today with a few people who live in KC/JaCo and some of the comments were: Didn't want a downtown stadium Frank White is an ass - most likely due to the reassessment fiasco but for other reasons also NKC can have the team - don't want tax money...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
The only difference would be that Jackson County has a population of 716,000 and KC has a population of 508,000. But since it's a sales tax, people going downtown, the crossroads, the plaza, the airport, the zoo, TMobile Center and even to the existing stadiums contribute to paying the tax so not a...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
" City of KC government officials support the Royals remaining in the city. That’s incredibly clear. Manny Abarca is annoyed at the crap Frank White is pulling. If the Royals leave Jackson County, the blame can be placed solely on Frank White’s incompetence." If the KCMO government really ...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
"Maybe I'm just being way too negative about it, but I just don't see a lot of support for a new stadium in KC from a public funding standpoint." I think that is why there is not a big push or incentive for Jackson County to help fund a downtown stadium. If the team decided to stay at the ...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
I think the point he’s more so making is that it’s hard to poll something when there still isn’t a coordinated push to win over the voting demographic on the project yet because the Royals are still deciding the site. I’m not going to speak for DCole though, but that’s what I gathered from his resp...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
I think their biggest failure was being too open and honest as they are going through the process to the public. I think the real problem was the lengths of silence. I think it would’ve been alright to be open about shopping around if we got more frequent updates. As it was, the lengths of silence ...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Gotta be movement soon so they can get the vote on the ballot. I'd like all this to get going tomorrow but a part of me thinks maybe they should move the goalposts on this and not try and get this on the April ballot. The Chiefs will own the minds of KC residents until mid February (hopefully) and ...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Don’t see it being the fight you make it out to be. As mentioned, if a stadium doesn’t go here something else will. Is it opposition to a stadium or opposition to change in general? Multiple landowners have said good luck, we're not selling Ok. I still don’t see that being much of an obstacle. Do y...
