Re: OFFICIAL - New KCI Terminal

Well the original conceptual drawings showed a more architecturally interesting roof and the indoor fountain. Other things have seems to be done barebones like no skywalk from the garage, the garage itself is basic. Kind of hard to get airlines to buy off on all this stuff when. It's not a hub for ...

Re: OFFICIAL - New KCI Terminal

I assume you are asking about the north park rendering? The rest of the story is just about the landscaper chosen? I don't know how many airports have that. I would have loved to have some outdoor space airside but I know how many security problems that can create. I don't feel like that north gard...

Re: New Chiefs Stadium

May I suggest we’ve gone full circle here in the discussion between you two and it’s unlikely to progress more?

I would like to hear ideas of what people think could be done at tsc if the royals leave.

They don’t play a lot of games to directly support businesses there.

Re: New Chiefs Stadium

I am no fortune teller. I am no psychic. But I have seen nothing that indicates Arrowhead is moving. They are in a wait and see mode on what the Royals will do. JoCo level of suckiness is an unrelated discussion. It's pretty easy to tell because teams strategically leak what they want to soften up ...

Re: New Chiefs Stadium

I agree with grid here. Perhaps we can split the thread off, but the problem with joco is it's just very bland. I know there are people that are fine with the houses and schools, but it's not for my taste. I don't know how you compare that to something like Bethesda. I think if you dropped someone f...

Re: Lula's takes over NARA space in Crossroads

Every time we think about eating there, I look at the menu and get put off by what seems like an enormous amount of food.

Is it as heavy as it sounds?

Re: Three Light

For a city like Denver, would that be considered fast as well? Or normal? I won't try to speak on behalf of cordish, but it's fairly normal for developers to reach a certain level of occupancy before continuing development. Especially true with power and light where they're building in one area and...

Re: Three Light

I do think 3 brand new residential towers going up within 8 years is insanely fast for KC, especially considering an average of 18-24 months of construction time each. For a city like Denver, would that be considered fast as well? Or normal? I won't try to speak on behalf of cordish, but it's fairl...

Re: Imagine Downtown 2030

"We’re not opposed to a deck over the highway, or better parks, or office buildings. We are opposed to massive public subsidies for these projects and others, when some Kansas Citians struggle to pay their heating bills, or their property taxes." I hate writing like this. It's so lazy and ...

Re: Three Light

I know a handful of people that moved from one light to two light, but I'm guessing they'll be less of that with this one. Cordish seems to build only when they're happy with the leasing at their previous buildings so cross your fingers. They effectively control Truman road now. It’s just business....

Re: New Chiefs Stadium

I think it's just better to admit KC isn't a winter city. If the NFL wants to start having cold weather super bowls, let's do it. But not going to build a dome. I have no idea where people think this money will come from. In this thread people are saying we're going to spend billions on stadiums. Th...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

The way we fund transportation, there's no way to combine these things. But the idea is to hopefully develop a real neighborhood. Which would include transit.

Re: New Chiefs Stadium

Saying the middle of February is better than the end of January is an argument I guess, although not a very good one. Regardless, KC will never host Superbowls or big bowls on a regular basis because people are normal and like warm weather. So no reason to design a stadium around this. If hunt has s...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Has anybody heard the rumor that a EW streetcar line will be included with an 18/vine stadium? I heard it from someone I think would have some knowledge of this whole stadium dealio It will for sure be designed to allow, but the time lines and funding make it difficult to coordinate these things. T...

Re: New Chiefs Stadium

Yeah, I'm on vacation right now and there's a reason I'm in the southern hemisphere. Spending a billion dollars to host a game one time I think is too stupid even for us. Again, I hear the chiefs are happy. If we get the world cup, they'll get some money. They'll get more when the royals do their th...

Re: New Chiefs Stadium

Best suburbs? It's a bunch of fucking parking lots surrounding a stadium that is used like a dozen times a year.

Put it on the moon for all I care.

I think the chiefs are happy too, from what I hear. Not much desire for a fight.

Re: OFFICIAL - New KCI Terminal

I know there's a lot to get done, but man there doesn't look like a year of work left in here.

Has there been any more talk of moving Southwest over early?
