Are there many telephone poles downtown?
Have you been to downtown KC before? I’m all for the positive vibes but this just comes off as some weird trolling.

The listing glosses over them losing the hotel flag nicely. Also weird that it mentions Cerner... probably written someone who’s never been to KC.

It is kinda rich that the guy who “earns more than Janet Yellen at half her age” is lecturing about how the poor aren’t poor in the right way for him.

Re: Baseball stadium on the IRS campus site?

Would this big proposed budget increase for the IRS boost employment here in KC? $8 billion more per year proposed for auditing. 90% of returns are electronic. I would think much of the auditing money is going to software rather than new staff. Still need employees to process things when shit falls...

Re: Baseball stadium on the IRS campus site?

Where do you think they process issues with electronic returns? I thought they processed those at another location. I'm sure there is probably no chance, but it sure would have been a great spot for a stadium. I think everything tax return related for like half of the US goes through there. Since i...

An employee told me today that the current QT at Roe and 435 will stay open, even after the new one is finished just around the corner at Nall and 107th. In fact, they are about to remodel the Roe store (not enlarge it). The employee said in Independence there are QTs on opposite sides of a highway...

Cool, but long covid is an actual thing that actually exists and is expensive to deal with both in monetary and human cost. Other viruses are the things that actually cause things like cancer, not their vaccines.

Re: COVID-19 Casualties

I was wondering if some of the supply chain was affected by the big freeze, and Texas losing their water and power grid for an extended period. On another note, I haven't been able to buy 12-packs of Fresca for several weeks, and it's bumming me out. True, went to Trader Joe’s the end of that...

Re: COVID-19 Casualties

I’m not in KC, but we had milk prices just completely crash in April and May to like $1-1.50 a gallon. Just getting back up to $2.49 now. Always seemed in stock when I go to the store. Only pinch was meat and even then that was like two weeks.

Might be joking, but I’ve seen quite a bit of mental gymnastics between the equally idiotic sides that don’t like it because a) it was developed under Trump or b) Biden is pushing it.

A church with a congregation probably has more $$$ backing it than a yuppie furniture shop? I mean I agree it should be saved but it’s not like their insurance will be like oh yeah we want this rebuilt. The average congregation is 70 people with a budget of $85k https://sites.duke.edu/ncsweb/files/...
