Re: Bird Scooters Have Landed
It made me so happy to see 6 birds within steps of my front door this morning when last week it was about 6 in a 4 block radius.

Re: Bird Scooters Have Landed
^Agree. BTW, have installed the Lime app and when zoomed out it shows KC as a Lime city on map but nothing deployed yet. Will be interesting to see if bikes and scooters or scooters only. They look to be scooter only in Austin (they have Bcycle) while STL now has both. Lime has told me they're laun...

Re: KC Star building redevelopment
Combine this with the potential relocation of the UMKC Arts Campus along 18th Street and that whole corridor just blows the fuck up. Wowza.

Re: Bird Scooters Have Landed
Unless KC has moped/bike helmet requirements, I don't think helmets are legally required. It looks like, since they are motorized, they need to stay on public rights-of-way (no sidewalks) and you need to have a valid license to drive them.

Bird Scooters Have Landed
https://www.kansascity.com/news/business/technology/article214670345.html I wish that they had dedicated docking stations for the scooter "nests". Hopefully having all your CC info loaded into the app will blunt potential abuses a little bit. Regardless, I'm excited to see the extent to wh...

Re: 2019 Mayor/Council Elections
I'd be interested in getting involved in Kander's campaign--does anyone here know who is organizing things or are we still too early in the process?

Re: OFFICIAL - Commerce Tower
Just walked by this morning and it looks awesome.
Does anyone know if the store's hours will be different from pre-renovation? Closing at 7PM is kind ridiculous, though I'm sure with the location there are other considerations they need to take into account.

Re: OFFICIAL: Port Authority Riverfront Project
Omaha has built several nice 12 to 15 story appt. towers on their riverfront. Think we should demand at least a 7 story minimum the rest of the way here. That's all I'm saying. That is such prime real estate with limited space to develop with no NIMBY's nearby. Four story buildings seems pretty ine...
