Yeah, it's not very big, and the quick glimpse I got while driving past looked more like a storefront and roaster than a café. I couldn't figure out why they had the Latteland locations on the Kaldi's website. Same ownership group? They are the actual roaster for Latteland? Latteland website implies...

Something called Kaldi's Coffee Roasting just put a sign up on the former moving company location on 5th Street (between Walnut and Grand, north side, next to where Scrape the Plate used to be). That was the deal with Lawrence Welk. He was born in the US, but everyone in his town in North Dakota was German. Even after two or three generations, everyone either still spoke German or spoke it with a German accent.

It is always urban vs rural. Go find any map of how counties voted in the last presidential election. The only difference is how many urban areas you have.

Well, the businesses they've been talking about have been wedding photographers and cake bakers, so the two-groom cake topper would make it pretty obvious. But you're right -- when it starts to lap over to things like whether or not someone can rent an apartment, it gets a little trickier.

Well, I imagine we'll find that out pretty quickly. I be very surprised if someone didn't actively do something to try to force it into the courts. As all those "defense of marriage" amendments start falling, lots of other state legislatures will be looking for this sort of ad hoc solution.
