Re: KU/KCK <-----> TSC East/West Transit
The negative report coming back from the KC Star regarding the construction overages to the Riverfront extension shouldn't hinder this effort. If this is built and built correctly, it'll be transformational for the city and east side. There's so much potential in vacant lots, dilapidated apartment b...

Re: Burger King - Midtown Sites
Why would anybody do a 'ground lease' in KC is confusing and doesn't seem to align with our market. I am not an expert, but it's not a deal I would recommend and seems like a seller who doesn't really want to sell. Too many variables and unknowns. For example, the parcel on Southwest Trafficway and ...

Very sad to see. It would be nice if Historic KC or other tax credits could be made available to help tip the scales. Another "missing middle" apartment bites the dust.

Tons of potential in the West Bottoms and good that deep-pocketed investors like Somera see that. Awesome to see this moving forward.

We need a purpose built, state of the art, 14,000 seat amphitheater that blows STL's version out of the water and isn't located all the way out in Bonner Springs. It's called Starlight, it's awesome and already exists, and they are about to add a $40 million dollar roof over the seating. More conce...

Tried to go to Fareway on Sunday but it's closed. A bit odd day to be closed for a grocery store. I did go to new Total Wine in Liberty. They recently purchased the Lukas Liquor in Overland Park and either the Liberty location as well or it's likely closing (not sure). Either way odd for them to op...

Re: New Chiefs Stadium
If the Chiefs don't want to do spend anything then how about we use their leverage to build a streetcar line instead. If they don't want to spend the extra billion they could command that's what we should use it for. I assume you mean a light rail? It takes the street car 10 minutes to go like two ...

Re: Is KC Tenants destroying the development future of downtown KCMO?
I agree Crossroads. Personally, I think KCT has done good work advocating for tenants against absentee or neglectful landlords to bring more equal balance to the relationship. Just because a place is cheap doesn't mean it should be unsanitary, dangerous, or in disrepair. Tenants do have some rights ...

35 will get rebuilt or moved but I seriously doubt it gets removed in my lifetime. I doubt Northloop goes by 2040 either. Somebody needs to create a map and show a potential track for a rerouted I-35. I just see very few alternatives to the present route without tearing down a lot of existing infra...

Re: OFFICIAL - Pennway Point
The fact it is a freeway in the urban core is bad, but also North Loop is also deficient from a safety perspective as a freeway. The on/off ramps are too short and too narrowly spaced, the merge lanes are not to standard, and the interchange to 29/35 on the east end is too curved heading onto 70 and...

KCATA to bring in Drake Development for mixed-use plan. An early concept map for Drake's proposal, included in recent meeting materials for a KCATA committee, reflects a new apartment complex in place of the 113,600-square-foot Kmart location, which shut its doors at 2821 NE Vivion Road in 2014. Re: New Chiefs Stadium
This is what I was hoping might happen when KC was awarded the World Cup, but KC didn't even have this as an idea at the time, so they would never be able to implement it. Because the city is far more concerned about airport transit for the World Cup, and making sure it remains after that summer. A...

I still don't know why we can't just bring the Chiefs to downtown or NKC. ESPECIALLY if they're not even planning any surrounding development at TSC. If they just want the stadium only then I can name fifty better sites. They want the giant parking lot. It is a tremendous fan amenity and a source o...

I saw the pics, absolutely a disaster. Sounds like partly because Royals came was ongoing so there was some congestion too.
