Re: Rieger Hotel Grill & Exchange

Was also able to try out the Rieger last night and like moosnsqrl I indulged myself on pork. Started with the Winter in Buenos Aires, which I was a little scared of at first since it has pureed squash and cinnamon - thought it would be a bit automny/fall spicy but it was amazing and refreshing.  My ...

New bike lane on Armour

I drove past Armour (midtown) today on Broadway and noticed what appeared to be a figure of a biker painted on the street along the east-bound curb lane.  Is this a designated bike lane and when did this come about?

Re: Jerusalem Cafe on 39th Street

Kinda surprised no one has opened up a good Mexican restaurant on that strip. Too close to SW Blvd I guess? You'd probably do quite well at lunch though with the KU Med crowd. Jerusalem should've tried Mexican/Middle Eastern fushion.  How could anyone say no to enchipitas or chicken shwarmales?  Ma...

Re: Jerusalem Cafe on 39th Street

Drove by last night and the new Smoke Burger was open.  Joyce's article quoted the owner as saying there were too many middle eastern-style places within a half mile for Jerusalem to make money...so now this place opens with the new Rock Cafe across the street, Fric n Frac a block away and within a ...

Re: NHL OR NBA, let the message board decide!!

The economic predictors of the KC market (or Pittsburgh for that matter) fail to take into account that many interior United States markets will extend spending for good and/or engaging sports team. Would anyone in their right mind tell you that KC wouldn't sell out NBA or NHL games for a winning t...

i feel like maybe we were eating at different Peachtrees. I went there twice and had service so bad it was laughable. Like "am i being punked?" bad. The location is not ideal, but poor customer service is poor customer service. I absolutely loved most of the dishes I tried....at the old l...

Re: 2011 Mayor's Race

Don't you need to live here for the past 5-7 years to be eligible? One of the news stations last night interviewed a city clerk who said you needed to live here 2 years before an election.  On the brighter side, Clay said that once the election was over he would never, ever be involved in KC politi...

I hope Denny's will staff accordingly once the PAC opens - they'll be slammed before and after performances

Re: Election 2010

So, when you disagree with the voters, the voters must be stupid.  That's my favorite liberal talking point. Right - a different point of view means someone's a liberal!! We've added jobs?  Do the voters know this?  How about Reid's home state of Nevada?  That's the state with the highest unemploym...

Re: Election 2010

Liberal policies are what cause the "collapse" in the first place.  I know Obama likes to blame Bush and Conservative values for the "collapse." but who had control of Congress in 2008?  2007?  2006? Then, Obama comes along and spends more money than God has to stimulate the eco...

Martini Corner - former Spy Agency

Anyone know if something's going in here?  Appears to have a sign (can't make anything out of it) above the door and some demo work has been done inside over the past couple of weeks.

D'oh!  I keep forgetting as soon as I leave work - I'll see what I can dig up this weekend.  Funny that your chandelier looks a lot like the one in our entry.  Your dining room looks great btw.

I'm surprised they didn't open the election office in their living room and charge themselves rent.
