Re: OFFICIAL - Performing Arts Center construction

There's a rendering of the rear wall of the concert hall stage at http://www.msafdie.com/  Once you navigate to the PAC, it's the next to the last image (sorry, couldn't grab the image to post).

I see it as paying it forward - it's fun to see the surprise in the drive-thru clerk's face at Pancho's or Winsteads when I hand them a buck or 2.

As would have Costco and Home Depot at the midtown Linwood location, but KC [as usual] caved early out of desperation and fear that they would back out in favor of a better location.

Re: Considering move downtown...need input.

That being said, you will still owe the 1% KC earnings tax. When I worked out of town (Columbia and Jeff City), I wrote the check annually in a lump sum.  Eventually, I asked the HR dept of my employer to deduct it with each paycheck, which was more palatable to me as I didn't miss the money as muc...

There really is a glen in Watkins Glen.  Lovely pictures Roanoker - do they have any of the old road racing course still marked?

If we could import underground fake purse sellers from NYC, we'd have umbrellas when it rains.

I miss House of Toy. Ditto!! The other place I miss is Putsch's Coffee Shop - where Sharper Image is/was.  They had the BEST blueberry pancakes that I ever had.  Also, their Thousand Island dressing was to die for.  Regardless of the day of the week or the time of day, the people watching was spect...

Re: Photogs: If you were to own just one lens....

Well, tonight I've discovered my first buzzkill on the compromises of being a miser. I set up the tripod to get some good storm photos and long exposures (15 seconds, for instance) are unusably noisy. There's a technique to reduce this noise.  Google the issue - it involves making a _blank_ exposur...

Ask to see the bylaws and financials of the building. I know that some of the properties you've mentioned have had problems with this stuff. Including the reserve amounts, operating accounts, projected budgets, etc.  What are existing life expectancies of major items?  ie, if the $275,000 elevator ...

I hate to see this store close.  It is the most urban feeling grocer in KC - if you want the vibe of NYC UWS, walk in there.
