Yes, according to their website, it is not allowed. Too much potential for spreading disease/parasites. The cats in the cafe are all cleared by the shelter they are brought in from.

Re: Layoffs at The Star
We still subscribe, but let it lapse for a couple of weeks because the cost had gone up so much. We knew if we waited, they would come up with a deal to re-subscribe and sure enough they did. Home delivery costs way too much for what it is and the distributors they use are the worst. It has gotten b...

We aren't much for going to movies, but we did go to Johnnie's Jazz Bar & Grill the other night. They are still ironing out a few wrinkles in the menu/wine/drinks (nothing serious--overall decent food and wine), but they are having some of the best live jazz in the Northland!

Re: Historic Elements of Country Club Plaza - Slowly Disappearing
It's difficult for me to see it the way it is now. I worked in the offices of Caldwell's Shoes (over the grocery store; next to Country Club Bank where Jan Stenerud & Len Dawson worked at the time) in 1971-73. I miss those days of lunch at Putsch's, getting prescriptions delivered by the pharmac...

Re: Aggressive panhandlers
The ones I detest are the "professionals." I see them a lot in Liberty. Same people, same intersections. Often a very healthy-looking dog with them, nice backpack, cellphone, etc., but holding a sign about hungry, out of work, etc. We've lived here for almost 8 years and I've seen a couple...

Louie's Wine Dive is also opening in a month or so. Not at all surprised about Gordman's. Dreadful store. Once was enough. I keep wondering if Natural Grocer's will make it. It is completely dead every time I've been there. Odd concept of a store. Grocer's is a bit of a misnomer since it is mostly s...

Starbucks going in at 96th and N Oak Trafficway next to the new Platte Valley Bank. Not far from there, on opposite side of N. Oak, they are renovating the building that used to be an Italian restaurant (Rosetti's or something like that--closed for a long time). Any idea what is going in there? Bas...

People moving downtown in a generally descending order: -post grad 20-30 year olds...suburban raised and choosing urban option -regional relocations from 200 mile radius -urban dwellers relocating from other major metro areas -empty nesters - from suburb and exurb I'd be interested in knowing where...

Re: At what point does DT become overbuilt with respect to Apartments
Thanks for the suggestions! We will check it out! When condo shopping, ask how long the building owners have had full control since handoff from developers. Three years+ is ideal for association to figure out right level of dues needed - or accept that dues may go up. Also ask how much they have in...

Re: At what point does DT become overbuilt with respect to Apartments
We are an older couple who want to move downtown--want to buy a condo or townhouse. But for some reason, the developers seem to think that all of these need to be "luxury" and have so many building amenities that the maintenance fees are way too high. We don't care about a pool. We don't c...

Re: Layoffs at The Star
Well, I asked for a full refund, plus the month of credit from last year that we were due. They are supposed to be crediting my credit card. I have no faith this will happen any time soon. The last time there was a billing issue, I was told that there is only 1 woman who works in billing and she is ...
