Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

I believe Paseo West will continue to be a candidate for denser mixed income housing, with a focus on affordability and unhoused/at-risk families. EV wouldn't require as much parking be built and I like the idea of an East Loop Cap. What's tricky is, and this is just my opinion, along with North Lo...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Wish it could go on the west side of 71. 71 will create such a barrier if the stadium is east of the highway. I don't like East Village either though unless there is a serious plan to build up the area east of the freeway loop and or cover the freeway loop. I just don't see how sticking a stadium i...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

There are 2 ways to pay for this stadium: redevelopment district and/or stadium tax. Both options favor 18th Vine. A redevelopment district works best at 18th Vine where there is more space, the government already owns a lot of it, and land prices are low. Politicians and community groups support 18...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

If council and city leaders push this it's going to be an absolute disaster. they have been for a long time. now its public (see KC Star). The list of negatives @18th/Vine is a mile long, miles and miles and miles. 18th and Vine is a loser. It will always be a loser. Because the people that run it ...

Re: KCI Flight Schedule Adjustments

Miami already serves as the "hub" for Latin America. AA has that business locked down well. They have a mature and loyal base of travelers, probably the one decent and profitable core customer base that AA has been able to hang onto during its travails. MCI has two nonstops to MIA on AA, ...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Went to 2 Cardinals games this weekend. Cardinal's stadium is better than Kauffman in pretty much every metric I have. Sat the upper deck for 1 and near the Cardinals dug out for the other. Takeaways: 1. Closer to the game Upper decks felt "on top of the game" and provided a compelling vie...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

It's naive to think that "sentimentality" is the main force animating opposition to a new stadium or that opposition will be meaningfully diminished because "sentimental" people aren't paying attention to the day-to-day game results. You aren't going to sneak a generational proj...

They need billions in capital investment to catch up to our peers across the state. Truman would also need a major revamp and expansion.
