Re: OFFICIAL - The Continental Apartments (former Mark Twain Tower)
There has been some sort of construction/remediation/demo crew in and out of this building for at least the last few days. Is working finally starting to begin?

What would you think of a development like the Marriot Courtyard being done on this lot? No incentives, fills the lot, and is pretty sizable What did you think about the Home2Suites development? It’s on the streetcar line, is ugly as hell and we had to redo the road system to get them the land. Wha...

I recall something about the Midland Office Building being completed as affordable housing around the same time as Three Light. Do we know if this is still a thing? I'm most excited to see that building's first floor retail space reactivated!

Its been years, so correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't this project originally sold as a mixed-use transportation hub? To me, it looks like it has morphed into solely a suburban office building project.

Excellent that Spokes will be adding sidewalk seating to that corner. But would be even nicer if they were open later than 6:30 PM and/or made the windows a little more transparent. Walnut could use the increased activity, though I get Spokes is on an island there after dark. I work across the stre...

Curry in a hurry has a loyal following. Another Indian place would be well served replacing them somewhere in the loop. Kulture Kurry has a spot at H&R Block food court on something like MWF. Wish they (or anyone else) would set up a regular spot downtown. Is the HR Block food court open to the...

Anybody been to the Chinese place yet? I've been a couple of times. Its a nice, quick, and cheap lunch option. Their basic options are their house beef, chicken, or tofu paired with either rice, noodles, or salad. Haven't tried the burgers. As a person that eats out frequently over lunch, I'd kill ...

Apparently the apartment project at 17th and Madison is still going to happen. According to EPC Real Estate's website, construction is beginning this summer. I thought this one was dead?

Re: "Flashcube" Building - 720 Main
So there's no new activity at this site? Just utility work unrelated to the renovation? I can confirm there is at least some activity in the building. There is a dumpster on-site and workers filtering in-and-out the front door. Work still seems to be minimal, though. This is completely unrelated to...

There is a dumpster setup next to this building and a handful of workers have been on site for the past week. Hoping work on this building picks up soon.
Also of note, for the first time in years, the ice on the sidewalk outside of this building has been salted this week!

I haven't heard any criticism about the height or design. I wouldn't have brought it up, but they are grouping the garage facade as well, and I just found that a little odd. The overhangs of each ‘grouping’ are usually an architectural element for fire suppression. Instead of the fire coming out th...
