Re: NFL Draft

KC & MO began advertising in Chicago on the Big Buses and on trash cans for the Draft. I snapped a pic of a trash can, but it looks real good on the bus.

Also shows they could break it up a bit by making the flat landings on Main into units. Give it some life at night.

Re: KCMO Downtown Streetcar

I should add that even crossing walking north doesn't trigger the pedestrian lights. So if I walk out of my place in the crossroads and walk north I have to beg button every single light to get down main. That's what I'm saying. The streetcar itself is nowhere close to me, I'm just trying to walk. ...

also in the Biz Journal article it said project had shrunk to 4.6 acres, instead of original proposed 5.5. Curious what the means? My guess is we will not be building anything the goes up in elevation as you move toward Wyandotte. Not sure but that would be a shame Would love to get some clarity on...

Re: OFFICIAL: Port Authority Riverfront Project

I was working in Cincinnati over the summer and loved the activation and liveliness the park offered to those living and visiting. I spent lots of time at the park as it truly was a great outdoor space. I sent pictures/ideas from Smale to Jon and PortKC... I never heard back. Ours really should be m...

Perfect demographic as well, seems a no brainer and honestly kind of shocking it hasn’t been done yet
For sure, but they won't do it due to there already being a by the slice joint inside.

While I still have yet to make it to one, I wonder if someone could talk the local Whataburger investor (Mahomes) into putting one into the old BK spot.

Agreed. Finish development of N. Truman and then the focus can shift on getting S. Truman developed since its more than just the lots on Main that need developed.

I don't see very many people here willing to spend $225/month for access to that, but I could be surprised.

A linear fountain fashioned after the one at Burlington/N Oak would be perfect. Or taking a lane from either direction of Truman and flanking the sides with fountains to drown out noises and avoid the inevitable "drainage issues" of it being over the interstate.

Which imo is an even worse idea. I was excited as hell to be getting the draft and was imagining the event around Union Station... But also having multiple "fan fests" located in the West Bottoms/Plaza/Crossroads/P&L/18th & Vine areas completely closed to traffic and lined with foo...

Are there any redevelopment plans for the building directly across Grand from this? I know there's around ~one~ tenant on the 2nd floor, but the rest seem empty.

Two tower cranes up now downtown. Perhaps we get to 3 soon. https://twitter.com/chris_stritzel/status/1600577940865040486 Potentially we end up with 4 up at the same time if Hyatt House restarts soon. The next crane to go up is for LuxLiving’s project on Broadway Which seems to finally be picking u...

No way will 12th Street be shut down on game days or even given a road diet. Not with the police HQ there. Not only do they want access, they use 12th to double and triple park. If ball park goes to EV I would like to see 11th as the street to concentrate on. Make it a ped street, interrupted only ...

Yes and no. It was just traffic calming (2 travel lanes down to 1 in each direction) with no rebuilding/widening of the sidewalks.

Re: Status and future of the River Market area??

That’s why I want the Royals to build some big parking garages. Make it better to develop those surface lots instead. How come stadiums are never built with parking directly under the field? Cincinnati's stadium has a parking garage/loading dock built under the western side of the structure. https:...
