They also called for integrating trail and mobility lane (formerly known as bike lane) plans. Which is a good thing!

Btw- they state the Ferris wheel is 180 feet in height.
This is also the first I recall mention of using the yard game area as an ice skating rink during the winter.

Interview with lots of details and pics. If they pull this off it will be a great addition to the entertainment options downtown.

And that is only for half of the overall project.
This is project is set up to be underwhelming on several levels.

The fact that you cannot go between the soccer fields and lake area by foot/bike is a joke. It’s very KC though.
It needs to be connected.

This building alone will do sooo much for the aesthetics of the river market. It will button up that corner nicely.
The PortKC TOD parcel will help too, but not to the extent this will. The Ashland site is such an eye sore.

The last council discussion approving the $10 million from the city included requirement for a community benefits agreement with all the stakeholders saying city owns this, a non-profit cid or similar will be in charge of maintenance. And if that doesn’t happen, city won’t contribute the money or su...

Re: Blue River Road
The river bank collapsed on part of the road. Possibly around a bridge. I believe the cost estimates to fix it were very expensive- something like $10+ million. I don’t think the council felt justified spending that kind of money on a sparsely used, leisure cruising road through a park when the city...

The city council approved $10 million dollars today for the cap. This serves as support for the city's application for state tax credits that will help build the project.

There is an ordinance being introduced today to extend their project timeline to 2026. So this is still alive.
