A home in NKC just hit $235 per square foot.
Our house would have increased in value by 50% since 2017 if it sells at that amount.

Re: World Cup 2026 at Arrowhead?
Clusters to me seems like it's a case where you can drive to the next city in about a day or a flight would be quick enough that an airline could turnaround at least two flights with the same plane Looking at a map I can picture several likely clusters. Nashville, KC, Cincinnati, Dallas, Houston see...

Re: Urbanism, architecture, transit, strawmen, etc.
^A key point is the lack of onboard fare process, which helps seamlessly integrate transit into the sidewalk, making it effortless to hop on. What I really like about KC's (and of course free fare). 100% agree. It would be interesting to see on-time data for the KC bus with and without taking fares...

Re: RNC 2023
If Trump wins the nomination there could be some ugly riots. Who pays for that ? I personally doubt he would be nominated again. Depending on what happens in the world of Trump, DeSantis might be it. But that's outside of my world of expertise. But the economic impact of the RNC could be a good thi...

Re: Fixing the KC Zoo (ongoing)
San Diego zoo does a nice job of having lots of local beer and wine carts sprinkled throughout while keeping it family focused. I think the zoo should partner with Boulevard or someone to place some f&b carts throughout for the weekends Thinking back ~25 years there was once four places to get ...

Re: World Cup 2026 at Arrowhead?
One thing I noticed is looking at 2018 that some teams had a 8-10 day gap between games. So finding a place to practice would be important for teams, they'll want to review their opponent and get some time in to practice how to counter their players moves. KC having two pro team stadiums, the nation...

If you're flying SW you also have to account for the fact that 90% of their PAX are families and leisure travel folks who likely rarely fly. Those security lines will always be slower simply because of that. You're backwards. In 2019 business travel was 30% of SW trips https://www.cnbc.com/2020/10/...

Re: OFFICIAL - New KCI Terminal
The airport is miserable. It can’t handle Uber at all, it can’t handle more than one flight at a time at bag claim. I can’t believe people still defend it. There's a dedicated two lane transit/taxi drop off lane. What it can't support is vehicles just sitting in the loop. That's not going to change...

Re: Fixing the KC Zoo (ongoing)
It feels like if six big exhibits went in the Zoo would be on the level of Omaha and it wouldn't mean tearing out what's already there, The big shapes are areas I think would make great exhibits. Red circles are space for smaller exhibits and facilities which don't fit into a theme. https://i.imgur....

Re: World Cup 2026 at Arrowhead?
The games in 2018 were held on 25 different days across a month. Their events saw 646 bands play in 11 cities. I didn't see that number before but that's stunning in it's scale. It's not clear what that kind of scale would mean for KC but I would expect the first weekend to be one giant event and ev...

Re: Fixing the KC Zoo (ongoing)
An interesting concept but again a lot of money. Plus the reluctance of many to be in the Swope Park area at night, though events such as Jazzoo, Brew at the Zoo and Starlight show that the general public will attend events in the park at night. This concept might gain support if the planned expans...

Both also "open" to Metcalf streetcar. Czinege for listening to proposal, Skoog loves Vision Metcalf, said it VM looked at Light Rail back when it was drafted thought it was a good idea, so now pro-streetcar as it aligns with Vision Metcalf goals. Also both are open to supporting DT stadi...

The team had 12 home games this year. There's a lot of days available to sell field time if they wanted to.

Re: RNC 2023
Wouldn't they select a purple/questionable state in the end? MO is pretty much a GOP lock at this point, even if someone nuttier than Trump nominated. Georgia is a major GOP concern right now, and AZ. Does the convention actually have any effect on a state’s vote? 2004, New York goes for Kerry, not...

Re: Fixing the KC Zoo (ongoing)
I still would really appreciate a section of the zoo with local wildlife, I feel as though that’s lacking in a lot of US Zoos An Ozarks exhibit would work well. It has the animal diversity to be interesting. The large area north of Australia or across from the Elephants both seems like a good spot....

I've talked about it several times try and keep up. You must be one of Bunchs boys. There's tens of thousands of posts. Remind people. terminal C should be preserved as a jail for anyone still saying we do not need a new airport. flew out of KCI last week and was stuck in the longest security line i've ever had there. it was 3 lines, each at least 100 deep. airport staff called out for anyone whose plane was boarding to head to th...

This is a general post, not directed at anybody here. I Just keep hearing this idea of running trams to the sports complex. I'm kind of a transit nerd, but maybe I'm missing something as to how in the world that would make any sense. I bet the single most important route for this event will be airp...

And here is the zip just to the west, 64109. Goes from Gillham to Prospect. Averages went from $50k 10 years ago to a recent peak of over $300k. fascinating, and something i've noticed in our previous neighborhood, South Hyde Park. we lived there from 2008 to 2016. during that period, it was pretty...
