Re: Westport

Let me rephrase that: they own a bunch of undeveloped land on the outskirts of the city. Like the Wichita equivalent of 190th and Quivira. Heck, they even took a go at partnering with someone for a “micromansions” (600ish square foot houses) development but it never took off.

Oil and gas money from Wichita. They own a large amount of undeveloped land down here.

Yes. Someone posted on one of those KC History Facebook groups that some stuff has been salvaged, other things like the columns weren’t retrievable.

Re: 2022 Senate Race

Whoever wins the GOP nom is going to win the general, even if it is Greitens, so personally I would advise against trying to strategically vote for him in the GOP primary Maybe it's too naive to think Kunce could beat Greitens but Roy Moore in Alabama showed that a bad candidate can go down even in...

I also don’t own a gun, just suggesting that the rhetoric of the last couple years has some pearl clutchers just ready to go off… Anyways, if Kansas City had more water downtown, we’d probably find more scooters in the water. They do it here quite a bit from what I see in the police blotter and the ...

The easiest way to rebrand would be to move but that seems a bit nuclear and would please absolutely no one in KC.

I think the Chiefs will try to move for turning Kauffman’s site into some sort of entertainment district thing if the Royals ever leave.

Not sure why we’re arguing over how much or little joco sucks.

I love Prairiefire. It would be a huge shame if something happens to that place. It's probably the only walkable dense thing in JoCo so I don't wanna lose it lol. Secondly- I've always wondered why KCMO doesn't make an exact replica of this structure and put it downtown. Defaulting doesn’t mean the...

What bad weather? It hasn't snowed the entire winter and it's barely been cold any days in December. The project should be. moving fast over this.

Well glad it's got our attention as the longer the system gets the bigger impacts these will be. I have no idea what happens to the actual towing I just know the tow trucks have shown up first which is all I was saying, calling a tow truck and getting them there isn't the issue, hence having RideKC...

Am I being too jaded by getting annoyed at the level of media coverage a fast food franchise opening is getting? There has to be something more interesting going on in the city to spend air time on. I don’t like it either. That’s what having corporate PR that sends probably multiple press releases ...

Re: Rankings, lists, and such

It's an odd list with Tom's Town on there but no other eats/drink places. On another note, when streetcar extensions complete, a guide for things to do along line should be very useful, especially for hotels to hand out (or post QR code to list). Boulevard is a couple up from it. Probably has to do...

Wouldn't they select a purple/questionable state in the end? MO is pretty much a GOP lock at this point, even if someone nuttier than Trump nominated. Georgia is a major GOP concern right now, and AZ. Does the convention actually have any effect on a state’s vote? 2004, New York goes for Kerry, not...

Article says 17 countries sold it in 2002. https://www.cnn.com/2021/08/30/business/lead-gasoline-car-climate-change-intl/index.html Aviation gasoline still exists. https://www.faa.gov/about/initiatives/avgas/
