Best case scenario: pool abandoned and old Katz space returned to retail.

I have never seen evidence of security. I love the old entryway terrazzo and J.C.Penney mosaic.

Should have made the new tax 5/16 instead of 3/8. Then could have claimed new tax that is less than old tax.

Re: Alleyways
J.C. Nichols banned alleyways from his developments. He thought they were old fashioned relics of horse stables and wanted to design for the affluent new automobile owning class.

From Shortridge's "Kansas City and How it Grew", "The eastern edge of downtown , between Locust Street and the freeway loop, had always been more residential than commercial. The old Kerry Patch around St. Patrick's Catholic Church and the African American Church Hill district formed ...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
The old fire department has been gutted and converted into a residence. The only thing reminding us it’s a an old fire station are people on this forum and a sign on the exterior. Not hardly worth keeping as it’s history has already been stripped clean. It has been awhile since I have been downtown...

I would like to think it will fit in if Oak got bowed to the east. It would be expensive, but could even replace the freeway overpass with an angled bridge(since the vision includes the freeway park construction). I am warming to the idea of 2 blocks of new mid rise development east of Oak. It woul...

Re: Alleyways
There are tons of blocks, midtown, east side, west plaza, volker, etc that have alleyways. I have an alley behind me now, and it was hell just getting the city to trim brushy, tree growth that made going driving down the alley into a jungle cruise.

In the seventies UMB had a lobby office in the ground floor and they "modernized" the lower floors by wrapping them in some sort of Disco aluminum. Would love to find a photo of this indignity.

Re: Is KC Tenants destroying the development future of downtown KCMO?
Saw No on stadium ad on TV sponsored by KC Tenants. I do not understand what advocating for No (or Yes) on the issue does for the interests of lower income renters. How is KC Tenants funded that they can afford to buy television ad space?
