I agree that central city infastructure has to be upgraded, and that law enforcement and school have to do better.
I also think eventually land prices might drive people to choose houses on smaller lots just because they are getting very expensive.

I'm not saying people can't live where they want to live. I'm just saying that leaders should focus more on good planning so we don't have to drive through vacant fields to get to the new hot development, and build a superhighway to get there faster.

The problem is that the civic monuments/amenities need to establish long-term endowments to help supply operating and expansion costs. They need to expand their fundraising capabilities. That is what is being recommended and attempted at least by the Liberty Memorial Museum and Union Station.

One of the problems with Kansas City Metro's sprawl is that development doesn't always fill in space as one goes outward.
