Re: Kansas City Sprawl: Dealing with the future

I agree that central city infastructure has to be upgraded, and that law enforcement and school have to do better.

Re: Kansas City Sprawl: Dealing with the future

I'm not saying people can't live where they want to live.  I'm just saying that leaders should focus more on good  planning so we don't have to drive through vacant fields to get to the new hot development, and build a superhighway to get there faster.

Re: Fixing the KC Zoo (ongoing)

The problem is that the civic monuments/amenities need to establish long-term endowments to help supply operating and expansion costs. They need to expand their fundraising capabilities.  That is what is being recommended and attempted at least by the Liberty Memorial Museum and Union Station.

I wonder, if under the doom and gloom worst case scenario, if the man-made islands will disappear under water if global warming raises sea levels.

It would seem to me that the City should give volunteers pamphlets with listings of all restaurants to hand out to visitors.

I guess it will depend on how much gas the houses use. If it's just a water heater, then they might.

Re: Sex and Gender

The sex habits of men and women shouldn't make any difference in regards to one carrying more stigma. However, among some age groups and religious beliefs, it still does.  MD is right in that the woman carries more risk during sex for a variety of reasons.  Viruses make no distinction when it comes ...

Re: Kansas City Sprawl: Dealing with the future

Does a city have to have a constant stream of population growth to be prosperous and attractive? No, it doesn't necessarily have to have a constant stream of new population, but cities do need to maintain their current population or they won't be able to keep up amenities and infastructure that alr...
