Re: P&L Famous Daves being Converted to Old Chicago Pizza

It was probably a situation where Cordish had little say because otherwise Famous Dave's would just close and nothing would be in the space.

Re: Mormon church to build temple in Kansas City area

To the Mormon Church, Independence is of significance in that it is said that that is where Jesus will come to build the New Jerusalem and set up his kingdom on Earth.

Pershing Building Construction

I noticed construction on the Pershing Building was going on today. It's located across from Union Station next to the IRS Building.  The front windows have all been removed.  Does anyone know what is happening?

Yes, that building and area is slated for redevelopment. The buildings will be torn down and residential housing is planned for that area.

Re: P&L District: 12th & Main Site Proposal

Sorry. You are right. I made a mistake.  I should have said: The old Kansas City Athletic Club later became the Hotel Kansas City, the Continental Hotel, and finally the Inter-Continental Hotel before being converted to an office structure and renamed Mark Twain tower.  The Kansas City Athletic Club...

Re: P&L district attitude rant

I think the whole P&L District is groovy and I'm glad it and the Sprint Center were built. I'm also glad that the Midland and Mainstreet theaters are getting renovated, and the President, Aladdin hotels were as well. I went to the Midland Theater open house tonight and stared out the upstairs wi...

Re: AMC coming to Empire, Midland to be restored...

I went to the open house and was very impressed with the restoration.  They did a good job blending the new elements to modernize the theater, but still leaving it historically intact.  The place is a palace.

Jim Davis of the Business Journal Passes Away

I didn't see any mention of it anywhere, so I thought I'd inform everyone that it was reported on Kansas City Week in Review on KCPT that Jim Davis, the development reporter for the Business Journal of Kansas City, died of cancer this week.  He was 49.

I noticed recently that the City is starting to rebuild the park infastructure along the Paseo north of 9th Street.
