I agree with you about the hysteria part.  I think there is a bit of opportunism happening where political scores are being settled under the auspices of "deficit reduction".  That being said, there are serious side effects to debt, deficits and budgets.  Inflation, bonds and stock prices ...

I'm thinking most of the migration is op to farther south op, but that results in a change of school district, sm to bv.  I'd also guess that a portion of the 435 north rehabs are being occupied by the aforementioned hispanic influx that are likely to have large families.
