Re: Forum is slow/unresponsive

It seems like we've discussed this before, but I'm unable to view content from before a certain date (I was trying to view the Law Building thread and it gives me error 500). Is that stuff just lost? Thx. Seems this has been fixed! Not for me. Looks like posts from before 2007 are still error 500. ...

Re: Misc Crossroads News

I have to say, I was disappointed when I heard it was going to be held at the Rockhill.

That place is just off-putting. Like a little bit of the plaza in the crossroads.

Re: Misc Crossroads News

I've been wanting to visit, but have held off for fear of what you describe.

It was written up in a LOT of media.

As for the cocktail price, I don't mind paying that for a one off quality cocktail in the Swordfish Tom/Manifesto league.

Don't know if these apply, but the list did look tasty.

May I submit also that not only are all the rims of the glasses touching the same plate rinser, but also whatever is inside the glass be it beer, spittle, piss, etc. is also being rinsed down over the same plate. All day long and into the night.
Somebody ought to alert the new owners.

Re: Westport

Topic of conversation on KCUR right now. Had to cringe when one of the guests(a young person), bemoaned the tear down of the bank (beautiful old building) and the 50 spaces of parking (unofficial lot of westport) for a huge development. This was followed by a caller who spoke of buying in the Roanok...

Re: Heart of America Rapid Transit

1. No route beyond the urban core would score well for federal transit IMO (see the 2008 light rail plan). 2. Rail is very expensive to build and only getting more expensive -- local money spent on capital won't ever be available for operations. 3. If you add rail to one part of the region, others ...

Re: Heart of America Rapid Transit

A few semi related questions: -What do you see our streetcar system looking like in 5,15,20, and 50 years? -When do you think we will expand north to NKC? -When do you think we will expand east/west? -Is there any place you envision an additional N/S line? -How far do you believe we will expand in ...

Re: Heart of America Rapid Transit

Sorry, gents. There will be no rail -- light or heavy -- in your lifetime south of UMKC or north of NKC... especially not to the airport. The ridership, density, and federal support just isn't there. If you disagree, go sell the shit yourselves to elected officials once they get the price tag (or a...

Re: Heart of America Rapid Transit

What a terrible master plan. When will people understand that there is pretty much ZERO justification for any sort of fixed rail to KCI Airport, let alone heavy rail. Realize that rail doesn't NEED to have justification by itself. Rail to the airport is a great plan when you take away the need for ...

They're busy enough that we get the stink eye when we show up without a reservation.

The food is just ok, the cocktails were better.
