Re: Genessee Royale Bistro

Closing apparently. A bummer as they have been pretty solid for a long time.

Always wished they had kept regular evening hours, but suppose that was a lifestyle choice for the owners.

Whiskey and Donuts was a great event!

Re: Politics

I think the crux of the long term fix is Trump wants to cut legal immigration numbers. Non-starter.

Maybe we'll get lucky and not get any federal funding.

Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC

I'm gonna go with Dave on this, data driven real politik is the way to go in 2018.

The airport analogy doesn't work, there's a reason we didn't ask for gondolas up I-29 as part of the proposal.

You all need to focus your efforts on the future bi-state transit proposal.

Yes, they hid the cages full of kids for 8 years despite gop congressional oversight for 6 of them. As phuqueue has already pointed out, there's no shortage of news stories about the way the Obama administration handled kids... 03/11/2015, Washington Post: Mexican kids held for months as punishment...

The economy is also (again) top heavy in its growth. No wage growth, big stock buy backs.

Wow, that sounds cool!

I agree the CP entrance is a bit sketchy, would be nice to get some streetscaping out that direction to attract users.

The Brookside route also didn't score well which means less likely to get matching fed funds.

We were down there for the Charlie Parker celebration last year with Chuck Haddix as he led a tour of the buildings in the area.

I deliberately did not stand in front of that brick wall.

Re: Capping the Loop

The plan isn't to cap the north loop, but eliminate it completely, hopefully with buried parking garages.

Truly capping the south loop, in the way that most think is too expensive, even with Cordsih. What would likely happen is some sort of sectional vented cap, not a tunnel.
