Re: KCI Flight Schedule Adjustments
LH launched RDU and MSP. Also restarted SEA. A slate of US cities also received increased frequencies or upgauge. STL was left untouched at 3x weekly. Plenty of chatter from STL netiziens that this is a bad sign. I guess LH previously dropped that 3x service isn’t sustainable long term. The worry n...

Re: KCI Flight Schedule Adjustments
I think that moat airports want to see the airlines get completely back on track, with pilot and employee shortages and equipment shortages, it could take a couple years to rebound. Getting TATL may take some time as well, especially when airlines are strapped and cannot add additional frequencies t...

Re: OFFICIAL - New KCI Terminal
Good grief. Every station keeps reporting about how people are not moving through the terminal drop and pick up areas and causing back ups. This isn't rocket science, hasn't anyone from this town been to other airports (like most) that do this type of drop off. People idling and even parking. Ugh. A...

Re: KCI Flight Schedule Adjustments
Yes, 3 nonstop but 6 R/T actual in air flights (and I only pointed that out since they are saying inbound and outbound flights are full). I totally agree with normalthings. I would like to see us get at least 2x a week to anywhere in EU to get the ball rolling and then see how it does. Lufthansa usi...

Re: KCI Flight Schedule Adjustments
And for what it is worth,
I would like to see more domestic nonstops out of the new airport than international at this point of time. Tired of connecting through STL, DEN, and MDW

Re: KCI Flight Schedule Adjustments
Overall, to be considered a F500 company or to even break that distinction is not an easy task and quite an honor. Is it though? It's an old man's award. It's what creaky old white CEOs brag about when they play golf. Garmin doesn't even count on the Fortune 500 because they are technically based i...

Re: KCI Flight Schedule Adjustments
Regarding STL getting another legacy carrier TATL service, I can see why. Lufthansa averaging over 90 percent full 6 flights a week (RT) on a A330-300 widebody beast with 225 seats including 2 business class sections. I am sure they want to increase even more, but like everyone, they need staffing/p...

Re: KCI Flight Schedule Adjustments
KC can only hope to fill a widebody flight if there are significant connecting opportunities. It will need to be one of the 4 major alliance cities. 50% of Lufthansa St. Louis passengers are connecting on. 50% of any traffic to Frankfurt is moving on to a connection. Not many people are going to Fr...

Re: KCI Flight Schedule Adjustments
If STL gets another nonstop destination TATL on another carrier, it won't be because of incentives, it will be because Lufthansa is filling 90 plus percent of their flights both ways to STL. Lufthansa is a remarkable airline and for STL to have that level of wide body biz class and economy filled is...

I like the MCI>PDX - just wish it was a little earlier.
Also glad to see MKE back on.

Re: KCI Flight Schedule Adjustments
I agree normalthings... IcelandAir coming back would be great. The only thing I think is happening with them is they are spread too thin on aircraft and staffing right now.

Re: KCI Flight Schedule Adjustments
The World Cup is a 2 week event (if that) in the winter. I understand what you are saying, we got a big event coming, but that doesn't always mean we are a big city on the rise, it means we got a big event by way of a lot of people working to lure that event here and (like the airlines) a nice incen...

Re: KCI Flight Schedule Adjustments
I really don't think this has anything to do with our leaders *not* working to secure TATL. 1) The new terminal is not even open yet. That doesn't "rule-out" us getting TATL in the future. 2) We know that airport leaders are saying 2024 for possible service (that is if things stay on track...

Cleveland Aer Lingus flight is 12 million for 3 years. https://www.cleveland.com/entertainment/2022/10/financial-incentive-to-lure-aer-lingus-to-cleveland-hopkins-is-actually-closer-to-12-million-over-three-years.html They did a great PR smoke screen release to the public last week. Re: KCI Flight Schedule Adjustments
STL Lufthansa service on wide body aircrafts with 255 seats is looking good. Lufthansa loads June 98% July over 98% August 92% September 91.2% Lufthansa has said "This has been the most successful launch of a new market in memory.” Now granted St. Louis has a large EU/German corporate connectio...

The bathroom green red lights I just saw at the new Wallys in St. Louis last weekend. So they have them at gas stations now.

Re: OFFICIAL - New KCI Terminal
Denver is the clear FAIL among recently opened/ renovated airports. Even though it's from the 1990s, it has a distinctly 1980s feel -- public telephone banks (with the pay phones removed); lots of dark wood veneers, now nicked and worn; narrow corridors with low ceilings (punctuated by the central ...

Re: OFFICIAL - New KCI Terminal
I have to kind of agree. I am in SLC airport now and perusing this thread and looked at this airport in comparison. Then looking at other airports like in Indy and/or Orlando - much larger waiting areas. These waiting areas we are getting are - geee... small in size, cramped looking and boring as al...
