Re: OFFICIAL: Power & Light District
This may be stirring the pot a little, but when I hear negative things from people about the future of downtown they typically are not well informed. I can't recall the number of times when people I work with find out I live downtown and they give me this look like "why the heck would anyone c...

Re: GSA considers big office complex downtown
If Dunn is moving to EV then I would think it would make sense to move GSA to the riverfront, however, I would prefer to see both in EV. The river front is far too valued a property to have it taken up by mammoth government buildings. Let the riverfront be for private development.

Re: P&L District: 13th & Walnut Site Proposal
Why is there a piece of office equipment suspended in mid air in these pictures I wonder. It is not. I thought that at first. Look closer, it is part of a light that is on the parking garage that the person who took the picture is standing in. You can see the beam extending out. It just happens ...

calculate the cost of everything you spend on your car... gas, maintenance, payment/interest, tags/taxes, insurance, tickets. before long, I'm sure you'll be right up to (or beyond) the price of entry. downsizing was the best thing that ever happened to me, and i know lots of others who were reliev...

Re: The Star: Pull Union Station out of mediocrity
Fang, interesting post. My wife and I were looking at the old street car behind union station and said the same thing. Here is the course that we plotted. We did not include the Penn valley park, but that is a good thought. So to include the Penn Valley park thought then course could be somethin...

It would be a great place for an aquarium. It could have both fresh and saltwater exhibits. Kind of a Bass Pro Aquarium on steroids.

Re: Cerner brings Health Conference back to Bartle
It left for two reasons. First, the event had been held in KC for years and they felt like moving it would bring in clients that could not attend previously. The other reason was the site. Lets face it, until the past couple of years downtown KC left a lot to be desired. I think the last one the...

I would personally like to see an Aquarium and improvements to the roads downtown. If you remove the KC tax from those living in the downtown area that would certainly help pull in the very wealthy.

OK, I know this is shallow thinking but I cannot believe the number of people that I meet that are from the east coast and new to KC that mention how good looking the people are in KC. I know it sounds weird, but I have heard that several times. I frequently talk to people that are new to KC or vi...

I walked by last week when the owner and manager were there. They gave me a tour. The place looks great. The sushi bar will be top notch but will not offer a wide selection since they want to ensure freshness. They also are serving Kobe beef. Very broad menu. I can't wait. /

Long, part of "getting in early" is the unseen piece of it. If you want the project to be nearly completed or to your exact specifications then try looking at properties that are already on the market and completed. The reason, many times, that it seems that those that get in on property...

Lets get some retail on this strip of downtown!!!! 300-500 units of residential and no stores from Western Auto to the Cashew...shame on this city Agreed. Also, we must point to the big fat block long parking lot that sits just north of the Abdiana building. Feast and famine. Please please plea...

If you have three stores all within 4 miles of each other and two of them are old buildings that will require remodeling and the property is worth more than you paid then it only makes sense to cut the stores that you will not have to improve upon. Margin is the key.

Sorry if this has been mentioned somewhere else, but does anyone know the plans for the oak street and locust street bridges? The ones that cross I-70/670 are gone. It is an odd site not seeing those two bridges gone. Don't shoot me if I got the street names wrong. It is the two bridges that are...

Seems odd that because of our backwards parking laws there might be a group of crack addicts living in what should be a thriving business. Ironic that a parking law might be enabling robbery.
That is if the Caliente rumor is true.

I took a tour of Park Place today and the amenities are top notch. The view is also out of this world. I really hope that there will be a market for this high end that far away from downtown. If this works out it will mean that downtown is really alive. They have one apartment open that is quite...
