Re: The KCMO School District
My former boss lives in BKS and some of her neighbors and friends in the area have their kids on AL, for what I hear they are all excited about the new place, at least regarding more space. I also have a friend that lives DT and she is also excited about the new possible new location and they are a...

Re: Overland Park could raise property taxes 46%
100 dls per a 200K house seems pretty reasonable but then why does 46% increase sounds that bad? Or are they increasing also property taxes on cars and commercial real state? Is the increase on those higher than on a home?

I am all about doing as much as possible online, we should be able to pay taxes online, pay fines online, pay for registration online which I think most of it you can do already.
Regarding processes to open business you should be able to submit as much documentation.

Re: Bakery/restaurant redevelopment for midtown Katz
That is somehow true too, a lot of them stop going to church but so far just one Hispanic guy in my whole life that I have talked to has told me he does not believe there is a God.Read the report and you'll see it seems Hispanics abandon religion at about the same rate as everybody else.

Re: 39th Street Condos
In my opinion recommend some changes to the project to improve it but do not block it, at this point any extra density we get would help the area and support the business in the area.

Man this is good news that are staying on the Westside. I was hoping they would buy a building on the corner of 27th and Holly, which is across of the current Roasterie offices. I guess they did not.

Re: UP Steam Train at Union Station this weekend
I usually go to see the trains at Union Station, I go to the parking lot next to Jack stack. I go cause my son loves trains, and what a pleasant surprise to see this train arrive, my son sorta freaked out cause he had not heard a train that was that loud.
Pretty cool to see it arrive.

Re: The Official Kansas City Weather Thread
I live in the Westside and I heard first the sirens from north Johnson County and at that point I turned on the TV but when the sirens went off on Jackson and wind started to pick up my family and I went down to the basement. Life is to precious to risk it by not taking a few minutes and take cover.

Pulling for the Westside too, I would think it would be included since Westside South is right next to KCK.

This is too bad for KCK, I am really for redeveloping the core call it KCMO or KCK and to see this it is disappointing.

Re: Crime up 22 percent in Joco
I lived in JOCO for a long time and it is a really good place to live and have a family but I grew bored of it (not saying I will never move back). Anyhow as an outsider and now living in KCMO it is amazing at the amount of comments I get from JOCO residents as why on earth I would live in such a ci...

Re: Crown Center to get aquarium
The only place I would consider using STAR bonds in KS now is downtown KCK where a full blown aquarium at KAW point along side a minor league baseball stadium (where tbones and sporting should have gone) would have been awesome with new Cerner offer towers rising above them in downtown KCK. Agreed ...
