Is the rendering the view from the NE? The grass hill has me a little confused.

Re: New Convention Hotel

Meh, as long as the design is accomodating to walkability/pedestrians, Im fine with this design. Its not like the original proposal design was earth shattering or anything.

Would it help if they spilled out onto 2nd? Is that even an opti...

Re: And here we go again... Midwest Hotel to be demolished

If the entire property is set for eventual redevelopment, it is interesting that a Mexican restaurant (I believe the name is Jaliscos) is planning a move into the building directly north of the Midwest Hotel.

I don't have a subscription either, but I do hope they are encouraged to include a retail component wherever they build. Centropolis isn't exactly a pleasant street experience..

Re: Renovations of apartment buildings along Armour Blvd.

The apartment buildings between Wyandotte & Baltimore on Armour have been approved for permits according to KIVA. They have been fenced off for a month or so, I would expect work to start soon.

MAC has been incredible for Midtown's progress.

Agreed. That section of Broadway looks like a wasteland. Hopefully they at least plant some trees.

Re: 16th & Baltimore Hotel

The garage is getting the centropolis treatment with large metal louvres covering the front facade. I'm a little bummed that something more visually interesting wasn't used to hide the parking. CPTED likely says not to hide it completely. Bringing in light and letting screaming for help out is just...

The renderings of 27/Gillham previously seen from a presentation last month are now on UC-B's website. I feel like this development should have it's own thread.

Word also says that the Muehlebach was found 'not eligible' for Historic Tax Credits, by the state of Missouri. No credits, no project, no building. Why was it found "not eligable"? I don't have that answer, if one is even given. I anticipate that they simply did not accept the premise fo...
