Re: KCMO Downtown Streetcar
Am I right in thinking that if the court rejects their claim of standing, the rest of the lawsuit gets thrown out? That sounds like the weakest part of the entire argument. They are under no obligation to shop at the P&L.

Multi-neighborhood potluck this Saturday
There's a potluck lunch this Saturday for residents of Hyde Park, Manheim Park, Center City, and Squier Park. It's at Central Presbyterian Church, 3501 Campbell, starting at 1pm. I don't think there's any structure to it, just a meet and greet for neighbors who may not have met yet.

Plaintiff Rumaner also routinely purchases goods and services from businesses and merchants located within the boundaries of the 1200 Main/South Loop Transportation Development District, the boundaries of which are coterminous with an area commonly known as the “Power and Light District” tsk, tsk.....

Re: KCMO Downtown Streetcar
Someone from P&L has to be involved for them to have standing to challenge, right? That's what I was thinking. Maybe all the plaintiffs haven't been made public. The lawsuit seems so basic that if it is a problem, some city lawyer would have pointed out the stacking requirement at the beginning...

We could do what Minneapolis does and ship out homeless and trouble makers on bus. &&& Yeah, they really do this. Called 'a bus ticket forward'. Apparently some have been shipped to KC. We should ship back two for every one they send here. What else can be done? I don't doubt you on thi...

I was bumping around in the far corners of the Rag and came across this gem of a light rail thread from 2005. What's remarkable is how the consensus around the mode of transportation and the route are very close to what the Phase 1 and potential Phase 2 look like: http://forum.kcrag.com/viewtopic.ph...

Option #1 would be my preference, though both options endanger valuable future parking space near the Webster House.
Given that the KCUR/Visual Arts buildings in Option 2 are owned by SH, how realistic are either of these exact arrangements?

Re: Stone/Rock Foundations: How much trouble am I getting in
Doesn't sound bad at all. If it's a window, it might be leaking around the joint between the frame and foundation wall. Easy fix. We had a the wet spot on the basement floor when it rained at our West Plaza house. A dehumidifier cleared that up. As Volker noted above, these foundations are designed ...

Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC
Agreed. I found this excellent website that breaks down the intracacies of how far people would walk to transit. In my mind, that's a realistic way of setting the TDD boundaries for the extensions: http://www.humantransit.org/2011/04/basics-walking-distance-to-transit.html P.S. This site is a transi...

Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC
I agree this is unknown, the question is more, how big do the TDD boundaries need to be and how much does it raise What's the underlying rationale on setting boundaries: size it to generate as much revenue as needed, or size it to cover the max area that people can reasonably derive direct benefit?...
