Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

The KC Current parking thing is going to be the nail in the coffin for this stadium. Jesus. First the shooting at the parade and now everybody thinks it will cost at least $50 to park. What next?, a family accidentally drives their SUV off the top of a downtown parking structure? The Current stadiu...

Yes* Only if they're able to turn out enough non-voters to offset the millions to be spent by the teams. This is quite different than a council campaign, which I believe is the only claim they've made about electoral success? There is also a large anti-tax sentiment out there. Will be an interestin...

Re: OFFICIAL - KC Star Printing Press

Could the same argument be made about baseball? I know the rule changes last year caused a slight bump in viewership and attendance but the long-term trend has been negative. Younger sports fans seem to prefer basketball and soccer. Baseball is an old man sport. Are we going to look at replacing a ...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

If non-voters are motivated to turn out by, say, KC Tenants or angry Crossroads business owners, that could tip the scale with the small turnout numbers we'd normally be looking at in an April election. However, the 2006 campaign drove higher-than-normal turnout. From 2006: Voters approved the measu...

Axiom Vs whoever the “save the K” people have hired. This is going to get interesting real fast. IFor the "Save the K" people, I'd like to see something of substance from them than just pure NIMBYism and reluctance to change. Let's give opponents a little bit of credit here: "Relucta...

But unprotected, which means it will be obeyed as good as the green bicycle lanes at intersections. NYC has photo ticketing cameras installed on busses. If you have a bus come up behind you in a bus lane, click and they’ve got you. Do people blocking the KC streetcar route even get ticketed? Not fr...

Any news on this project? To get any of it done by the time of the World Cup would be equivalent to the convention hall fire rebuild over a century ago. Waiting for environmental, which MoDOT has not advanced. No approval, no lid. To present this is as "approved" is a lie and ignores the ...
