Re: I'm (Finally) Moving!

I'd kind of like to see something proving that Asian hardwood story. My husband builds furniture and from my knowledge, our KC humidity is good for the American cherry he uses. That said, I'm thinking that many Asian countries are quite humid too. The Asian hardwood humidity story sounds sort of im...

I walked through there once; it's a nice facility but it's pretty crowded because they're so cheap.  Good option for someone with weird hours though, who can avoid the rush times.

Re: Coffee Lofts: Loft for sale or rent to own....

I was just giving you a hard time. I understand that sometimes circumstances dictate -- but no decent gyms? Scott Fitness? What does it lack? Scott Fitness is decent and I go there since I live downtown.  But if we're comparing it to what's available "down south", that puts Prairie Life i...

The Ideal City (1951)

Here's what you do when it's 1951 and SimCity hasn't been invented yet.

I was afraid they'd turn the DB building itself into a condo.  Future residents would then be dismayed to learn the history of some of their units.  "Your bedroom is exactly where the old leather shop was, how neat."  Blech.

Although, I typed that city name into google earth and don't see a runway or much of anything else...it's closer to Kamchatka than it is to Anchorage.  So perhaps the abbreviation is an apt one.

Sioux City embraces SUX code for airport

After a multi-year battle to get their airport code changed to something other than SUX, Sioux City has reversed course and made it the center of a new marketing campaign.  The airport's full name is Sioux Gateway Airport.  The FAA offered the city 5 alternatives at one point...all were rejected:  G...

So, here are the same photos but on my own forum, which despite being of more antiquated pedigree, happens to not be a worthless steaming pile of shit when asked to accomodate more than a few maladroit, hackneyed opines of the dithering lumpen gaggles of the nuerolytically destitute. Re: What are the ugliest buildings in Kansas City?

Yes, the BMA Building/One Park Place is hideous, in my opinion. I also sorely dislike the the Vista Del Rio/The View, both the highrises at 31st and Broadway, the old folks home at Meyer and Wornall, the IBM building just north of Union Station, and that huge government building near 13th and Oak/L...

That takes a lot of work. and a crew of some very good artists to accomplish. The only question though. Did they do the playdough in the streets of NY or did they do it in a studio in front of a green screen and superimpose the image onto the shots of NY. They moved a bunch of pieces made of modeli...

C300 requires premium gas.  Something to check into for some of the other higher end cars you've mentioned too.

Re: Automobiles.

could have sworn you said you drive a trailblazer back in one of the bickering SUV-hating threads about parking.  my mistake.  i shouldn't spend that much money on a car either, but it's awfully tempting. In my experience it's funner to think about the purchase of a new car, than actually doing it....
