IT work that mostly deals with Unix/Linux use/administration. I know that for such work, right now, the operative phrase is, "get in line," but I find that jobs are much easiler to find if you know someone close to them.
That area would be a perfect commute for me, and no Kansas taxes!

Tall Residential Tower???
How people get in and out of the higher floors it not of major concern, as engineers are generally smart enough to glean their building-exiting desires. I say a great place to put is would be just west of New Quality Hill Apartments, where Quality Hill Towers used to be.

EDC gets some federal funding for downtown signage
As long as there's money for new signs, why not use the 19th-century names?

Bow to the all-conquering skyline of Chicago!
Not to say KC doesn't have a lovely skyline, but come on, Chicago takes the cake, in this hemisphere!

I will be in Boston to see the Red Sox play the White Sox on Saturday. I will root aggressively and drunkenly, for the hometown team.

This country needs another Bank of America Building like it needs another Verizon Wireless theatre/stadium/concert center.

GDDA meeting to define downtown boundaries tonight
That(using a tax reprieve to encourage development) looks like an admission that our current tax scheme hurts neighborhoods. If our system of taxing property is hurtful, then why use it when there are perfectly viable, and even more useful alternatives?

Um, then I see no reason at all to give it a name. It's part of downtown proper.
(btw, I find it annoying that people refer to a circle of expressways as a "loop." It's seems like a very tacky imitation of a good use of teh word elsewhere.)

Don't forget The Bellerive, Clyde Manor, and the Ellison. They are all on Armour Blvd.
Also, I think he was referring to buildings in Kansas City, and not surrounding cities.

I sure don't think they're done. The White Sox have a very difficult September, and the Royals have a very easy one. If the boys in blue don't finish in first, I think they'll at least finish ahead of the White Sox, and that's all I care about.

It should also be noted that there is tax money for people who want to start a business in the urban core, particularly along main street, so with that in mind, along with decent credit and a good idea, any bank would probably be happy to help you out.

One unfortunate thing about any rail plan with which existing lines would be used is the expense of using them. The Feds pay hundreds of millions per annum to the rail freight companies to keep Amtrak running. Because of this, Amtrak can't run any trains faster than about 90 MPH(because of the condi...

The area they are talking about is in the loop? I thought the area in question(so named SoLo for South of the Loop, like other So neighborhoods: SoMa, SoHo, etc) encompassed places like Town Topic, Manny's, Jilly's, Smokin' Joe's, Fiorella's Jackstack and the Hereford House.

What ultimately prompts widespread acceptance of public transportation is the point when driving your own vehicle to get around becomes so expensive and so inconvenient that people just become fed up. One piece of that is happening right now: Gas prices are going up a lot I have no pity, whatsoever ...
