Here is a link for the plans on Compass: https://compasskc.kcmo.org/EnerGov_Prod/SelfService#/plan/c62d9738-696a-4ccc-91d7-9359e15fb7a2 Maybe they are changing/downsizing the development so it is just over the garage, leaving the old Beaumont/Char Bar untouched. It doesn't seem like they are going t...

It looks like issuing the bonds for the 44 Belle project is on the PIEA agenda for tomorrow. Hopefully that means it will get going soon. Issuance of taxable industrial revenue bonds for the Midtown Plaza, Phase 1 Project in the maximum principal amount of $4,500,000 and authorizing and approving ce...

Re: Westport Terrace at Manor Square
Maybe the project is dead, but why speculate just because it hasn't started, yet, and because of some plans for part of the old Beaumont? Is there any tangible proof or just guessing? Because the old Beaumont is the site of this development. Why would someone submit a plan with the city for an exte...

Re: Westport Terrace at Manor Square
Well, I guess this project is dead. A plan recently showed up in Compass for a "second floor addition and interior changes for new tenant" at 4050 Pennsylvania. That is the same address as Char Bar, but I'm guessing this is the other half of the old Beaumont space that has never been re-us...

4140 is the single story building just south of Westport Ale House. So the new restaurant will be built on the corner of 42nd and Broadway (currently a parking lot) and the existing building will be torn down for parking (11 spots). They are asking for variances in the Boulevard Standards, saying t...

Re: Plaza Residential Development
A group of 20 townhomes on the 4400 blocks of Broadway and Washington are set to be expanded and renovated/revamped. They will be expanded in the rear to nearly twice the size and it looks like there will be significant changes to the facades with balconies added I'm fairly sure these are currently ...

Re: Westside happenings
There are plans to build 5 single family homes at 21st and Belleview. http://i66.tinypic.com/33mbrzr.jpg This is the same developer that built 1120 Missouri in Columbus Park and the design on these will be similar. I really like this model of infill - similar density to townhomes, but you don't have...

Re: Columbus Park Redevelopment
The same developer who built the house at 1120 Missouri Ave has submitted plans to build two similar homes on a vacant lot at 569 Harrison (I believe it is currently a single lot that will be split in two). They are also building 5 in the Westside at 21st and Belleview. Here is what 1120 looks like....

I can't believe how quickly they renovated this building, and that it got by me without notice. The latter may be true, but no the former. The renovation took several years. I know it had started before mid 2015. Although the signage is new, I believe it has been done for a while now (at least part...

Re: Downtown office vacancy
My napkin math shows that the purchase and lease up to 85% of City Center Square will push the downtown class a vacancy down to around 9% It was unclear to me whether the 85% occupancy rate cited in the article was referring to City Center Square or the Populous building. My initial thought was the...

MAC has renovated numerous historic buildings, but they also tore down the market building for this project and wanted to demo the apartments at Armour and Wyandotte (thankfully, they were stopped). They are hardly preservationists. With this being a new construction project, my guess is they will d...

Yeah, when I didn't see any restaurants with that name, I was thinking/hoping it might just be someone with some pizza money involved in the project.

AT&T Building Renovation, 8th Street and Locust
The AT&T office building at 500 E 8th St is on the market and it sounds like a redevelopment plan may be coming together (and looking for incentives). The PIEA agenda for this week's meeting includes an item for conducting a blight study. I don't see any indication of the plan. Resolution approv...
