I actually can’t believe they lasted this long. I was in there for lunch about a year ago. I think we were the only people in the restaurant in the middle of the lunch hour that day. Our friends said that they had lost a lot of their clientele. The place was very old style. so their clientele died ...

There's easily 3x as much retail in that part of town as there was in 2000 and Independence didn't exactly grow at the same time.

Here's an article in the KC Star about the foreclosure. Not a good sign. It seems like another enclosed mall in KC might bite the dust. http://www.kansascity.com/news/business/article198643414.html Didn't this mall recently add two major tenants (Dicks and H&M)? And isn't is nearly fully leased...

I wonder when the fourth floor of the men's store was walled off? I remember when they sold electronics up there. Kind of weird that they now have escalators to nowhere. One option Oak Park could consider is trying to get Bloomingdales to lease that spot but considering our market size that would be tough. what's the smallest market Bloomingdales is currently in? OPM might also consider trying to get Saks or Lord & Taylor but aren't they mostly on the East coas...

Williams-Sonoma is slated to close mid-January. As much as I didn't like Highwoods, the new owners haven't really seemed to improve things on...
