Re: Dismantling of Great Mall (ongoing)
I think Great Mall is too far away to bring in Hispanics from KCK and Independence Ave. I think Metro North, or Indian Springs would be better. This company has a Hispanic Mall in Oklahoma City called Plaza Mayor, so I think something like this is possible very soon.

Re: News from Omaha
The one major exhibit type Omaha's zoo doesn't have (but KC's zoo does) will be added: Henry Doorly Zoo announces $70 million, 28-acre African grasslands exhibit I have been to Omaha Zoo twice, the first time i was impressed by the Jungle, Desert, Aquarium and the Swamp area. We didn't see much els...

Uber/Lyft ride-sharing in Kansas City
Saw an ad on my Facebook that Uber is looking to hire drivers in the KC area. Uber is a little more expensive than Taxis but the transaction is done with your phone and you know what price you are paying. I think this will be a great for short trips in the P&L, a lot of the taxis don't like maki...

Re: Is KC a hit among millenials?
Oh yeah. Who else is buying hundreds of those goofy 'KC' hats from Baldwin? Hey, I've got one and I'm not a millenial. Also have a pair of Baldwin Denim jeans....love them. I like his clean style versus the d'bags that wear the jeans with big back pockets and stencil (i.e. True Religion). God, i ab...

Re: Is KC a hit among millenials?
I do feel like, among those under 30 I talk to, there is a much different attitude than say the Boomer generation when talking about KC. Younger people seem much more optimistic about KC. The first thing older Kansas Citians will talk about, when talking about the city, is the crime, or the pothole...

Re: Jewish Community Center shootings
On another note, I noticed that a couple articles are saying "'Kansas City' shootings". Tuesday NBC Nightly News said he was "in a courtroom near Kansas City, Kansas" or something similar. Which is technically correct, but I'm sure they meant to say "Kansas City, Missouri.&...

Re: KC invited to bid for 2008 GOP Convention
So in the last week we have made national news for a highway shooter randomly picking off people, monkey escaping the zoo and a known KKK leader who shouted Heil Hitler while being taking away at the JCC. I think we can kiss our chances goodbye. So when something bad happens in Overland Park and it ...

Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a truly frustrating game 21 LOB and all of our 9 hits were stinking singles, bases loaded 3 times, why not pinch hit for Jarrod "Fing" Dyson in the 9th for a guy like Maxwell or Cain. Dyson is horrible. Yost is a god damn joke and hated him in Milwaukee. I'm pretty sure Yost is on the...

Re: Penn Valley QT
The Shells are the worst, even the one on Broadway. Expired food, bloated prices, drug paraphernalia and porn, and the people that run them are more than shady. Wouldn't miss em! Definitely shady, i always check the prices when they ring it up, they always overcharge me like 1.79 for a drink but on...

Re: Penn Valley QT
You can clean other pipes with those cleaners, FYI. Not just the crack ones. Coopers and every other head shop located in the Broadway "Hookah District" sell the same stuff. I've seen a guy ask for a Chore Boy while at the Shell on Main they sell them behind the counter by the smokes, i h...

Re: Penn Valley QT
Why can't they just buy out those crappy shell stations on Broadway and Main. I hate those places, they sell crack pipe cleaners and cater to the druggies that hang out at the plasma center. Wish those shells would go away.

Miami Heat will play the Golden State Warriors Oct 17 at Sprint Center. The Heat are coming here so much, it makes me wonder if they're eyeing a relocation here. Not really. Once Lebron, Wade and Bosh are long gone the Heat will go back to half empty arenas, so they will probably move i...

Yeah, i don't understand why they are skipping Ventura. I think Ventura starting could have built a lot confidence for the guy and really pump up the crowd.
