Re: Best Local Trails
Just heard that the MO Senate Appropriations Committee removed the $70 million in federal funding that could have been used to develop the 144-mile Rock Island corridor. Senators said the trail would encourage trespassing and violate landowners' property rights. Bummer. Really hope this stays alive...

Good lord that is a huge area. Seems perfect for such a development. Hopefully the massive solar farm gets built. can't help but think the land would be better used for data centers and industrial. airport owns it so the revenue would go to maintenance and lowering fees Why not both? Put the solar ...

Adding a bike facility to Woodland will make the abandonment and takeover of the street north of Independence by KCUMB sting even more.

BTW, Warner Plaza's 10 low-rise apartment buildings had I recall eight apartments each, plus another 20 in the five-story structures; Knickerbocker had at least 30, and the 20 units on the Plaza makes 150 units total. All of which could have been redeveloped as mixed-rate-plus-affordable housing. T...

Even when the city was *already destroyed* they chose not to build out highways through the cities to the degree that we did.Highlander wrote: ↑Wed Jan 12, 2022 1:04 amIn Germany (and most European countries), they never destroyed wide swaths of cities to build the motorways, autostradas and autobahns.

In the past when I've talked to staff at Zaina they said they were being kicked out. Haven't heard if they found a new spot yet, but they did want to stay downtown.

Two Light garage is a mess overall. the left turn from northbound Grand needs to be eliminated immediately. Thanks for checking it out DCole. Might be worth it to look at changing the SB left-turn lane to Truman to start on the overpass and make the portion north of Truman a left-turn lane for Two ...

So you expect members of the PNL operations staff to place signs in areas that are outside of their territory? I've never seen this done before, probably for good reason. Put up permanent variable message boards on Grand a few blocks away at say 10th and 18th - somewhere far enough back to give peo...

Could definitely be a double edged sword, hard to see what some dude in western Spring Hill would appreciate about taxes going to something like the zoo, or some other attraction they’d go to maybe 1-2 times a year that they would see no direct benefit of I go to the zoo maybe once a year on averag...

- It's Dutch, so maybe it will subconsciously implant progressive transportation ideals into people who eat there

815 Cherry Street is under contract. Buyer plans on holding the land for a future development. LCRA has been involved with that lot since 1961 when they entered an agreement with the land owner to keep the land in private hands instead of Buyout for the "east side urban renewal area". Is ...

This is a good opportunity to road diet Vine south of 19th Street. It's really wide from 19th to Lynn. The grades along this stretch are favorable to a bike route.
