Re: Is KC Tenants destroying the development future of downtown KCMO?

Where was KC Tenants when Warner Plaza with its 150+ affordable homes was demolished in 1990? For that matter, where was KC Tenants when Twin Oaks with its 300+ affordable homes was demolished in 2006 for low-density (poorly constructed) student housing? These people have not shown any interest in ...

What causes these buildings to be so long? Seems like every new building has to eat the rest of its block for some reason

The convention complex feels pretty massive as is, I’m not sure we should be eating up any more urban fabric for expansions, unless it’s covering otherwise unusable space like freeway ditches

Re: Kansas City Fly Over

KC’s large existing building stock ate a lot of the investment, so it’s hard to notice in a drone shot. Collison even has an article about how KC is a leader in conversions.

I'm paging chrizow here specifically because they've claimed to be fairly left wing, but I'm also interested in hearing opinions from any other progressives who might be hanging around this board, what do you all make of this issue? Discourse on this subject is way more one-sided on here than I'd e...

Will the garage be public? Maybe it can be a park and ride or something…..regardless, this is a really poor design for the site

Re: 12th and Broadway site: RFP for mixed use

The RFP shows two separate parcels. The question then is should it be developed as two separate projects, or one large one? The more buildings we can fit on a site, the better. My vote is two separate projects. Why is that? It produces a varied streetscape that has more opportunity to evolve piecem...

Re: First Friday

The market itself isn't wildly unique, but having it so close to the waterfront is fairly unique. In the US, I can only think of SF, Seattle and New York as cities with markets so close to water, which is good company to be in, I think.
