Re: National Museum of Suburbia.

It seems like this thing has to die in some totally ironic manner...like JOCO does a 180 and votes for Light rail and puts a station there more likely it will die in a totally fitting manner...like 5 years of operation and then turned into a parking lot, moved for highway construction, low attenance...

the new york times has an interactive infographic about state and government incentives to business. i haven't had a chance to explore it, but it looks interesting.

Re: KCMO Downtown Streetcar

Huh. Now she's suggesting that unless the election board breaks the law and tells who voted which way that the whole thing is rigged. (see quote below) It's now obvious she's grasping at straws more than anything. I can't help but wonder if her talking about moving was just bluster, as much as the ...

Re: Target

A downtown Target would be great, especially considering they're willing to locate in an existing building. Just think of the possibilities among the buildings currently awaiting rehab. I can not think of any, that would be a candidate. I agree. That is almost the danger of them coming DT as well, ...

They did some shooting at Stripes, Whites, and Blues- an american made retail shop for working man's clothes...located in CP.

EDIT: no wait, the Stripes, Whites, and Blues thing was not for this, but was for an ABC nightly news bit with Diane Sawyer. It aired tonight i guess.

Re: Women's pro soccer in KC

I think this is great. I really wonder where they'll play? If the TIF financing for field in Swope doesn't get snuffed out they could build something smallish there. Or would there be enough demand to just go ahead and play at Livestrong. It may not sellout...but decent attendance may warrant it. Pl...

Re: KC School District Buildings... Reuse?

To me, the entire point of a garden such as this is to get use out of land that is not being used or to make abandoned spaces look occupied and vibrant. Once that land finds a use, people need to find another place to garden. It was a free offering to the community to help improve the neighborhood,...

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not.

If serious, what internal court yard are you referring to? I don't see one on the images provided.

Re: KC School District Buildings... Reuse?

I absolutely say they should move this garden and put housing there. I am 100% for urban gardening as a way to improve vacant land, but the ongoing state of that corner is abysmal and more of an eyesore than anything. It is the kind of urban garden that gives urban gardens a bad name...you can barel...

I don't know how accurate this site is.

by clicking the population density by city it showed STL as having 970,000 people and KCMO as having 527,000 people. maybe i did something wrong
