Re: NHL OR NBA, let the message board decide!!
But maybe the Suns Owners will buy them or maybe we can bring both here. I hope we do get them before Orlando. Why would anyone put an NHL franchise only ~90 miles from the team in Tampa? The population of the two metro areas (Orlando, Tampa) is smaller than Phoenix or Atlanta, which just lost the ...

Re: Rankings, lists, and such
We are ranked 7th for America's Best Downtowns http://www.forbes.com/pictures/efel45eddf/kansas-city-mo-2 Apparently Forbes couldn't send reporters out to Seattle, SF, etc. And if the list is about downtowns, why include anything on the city's BBQ, fountains and the Plaza? Not that downtown hasn't ...

Mizzou must consider the loss in the tax revenue to the state of Missouri if they move to the SEC. The Big 12 Basketball Tournament is probably the biggest money maker for the state of Missouri. There's not a single sporting event in the state that brings in as much money as the 10-team, 4-day coll...

Re: OFFICIAL: Penn Valley Park (Ideas+redeveloment)
I can't see anything happening on the north lawn any time soon. Remember a few years ago the proposal to install those stainless steel orbs that would evoke a sense of them rising out of the lawn? People got so worked up about it that it got shut down fast. Too bad, in my opinion.

With the announcement that Mizzou will stay for 'at least one more season' today, does anyone else feel like this might be some sort of an agreement where Mizzou will be allowed to leave without having to pay the new, higher exit fee in exchange for perceived stability in the league? I'm curious abo...

Re: Crown Center: urban disaster, shining star, or in-betwee
Last time I went to Benton's it was like a time warp. It's a shame that, like Skies, the views of the city from those places will only be enjoyed by meeting/event guests and Starwood's frequent guest program. When was the last time you went? It's pretty updated, swanky these days. Soft blue lightin...

I'm kinda surprised there hasn't been a big push to do so. Doesn't Mo State have their own Boone Pickens in John Q. Hammons? Seems like they'd be a prime candidate to move up to FBS football. Even if they were only in Conference USA or the Sun Belt - like they would be at first - that would seem mo...

Re: KC Bike share
Was in St Louis last week and my friend showed me some sort of bike endeavor where a small storefront opened downtown (I think there are several) and bikers can pay monthly fee, bike to the shop, shower, change into biz clothing, have access to a locker and leave your bike. My friend said it's very ...

Re: 39th Street Condos
I'm terrible at visualizing things like square footage, height, etc., but the 39th St image in the rendering appears (to me) to extend further east than what is available on the site. Is the entire strip that's currently on 39th (that contains Saigon 39) staying or part coming down for the new build...

Seasons 52 prolly told Highwoods they'd turn the spot into something that reminded Highwoods of their native (suburban) North Carolina.
The Plaza is quickly turning into Zona South.

On a side note, my partner works for a business on the MO side of 39th St between State Line and SW Tfwy. He says yesterday a Google employee was going around to businesses on 39th, inviting them to a free small business meeting sponsored by Google where local small businesses would receive trainin...

Well, maybe they'll make it match the changes that are taking place at the old Baja spot  Seriously, covering up the star window and curves? Now's the chance for Highwoods to step in and say 'you haven't seen the finished version yet so don't judge - the scaffolding is only a first stab at...

I can't believe these Save the Plaza people. Congrats, the building will be built the block west of Broadway on 46th terrace instead of the block east of Broadway on 46th terrace. What a dramatic victory for the little guy. And with $11 million in TIF incentives already approved, if I understand co...

That's it. Ignore the issue and blame it on the business owners and not the problem. Something I've noticed is a theme on this thread. Its not that big of a deal? Well, I think you're seeing that it is and not an aberration. Our mayor is touring the area and gets thrown on the ground because of gun...

I would be very curious to know how many of these kids come from stable, two parent homes. I know stable is hard to define. I'll define it as two married or cohabitating adults who live under the same roof with the children, at least one adult works and provides a consistent income, both adults kn...
