Re: knucklehead's rolling roof financing plan

I've also read that the tax credits they are receiving are equal to the private contribution they are making to the stadiums - so in essence they are publicly financed stadia. Oh but there are a bunch of stadiums that were completely publicly financed, so this isn't the worst deal ever. New Yorkers...

I haven't bought a fishing licence since they closed Sams in Raytown. Incidently that little shop is the reason Sam's Clubs were called "Wholesale Clubs" in KAnsas City utill about 10 years ago.

Re: knucklehead's rolling roof financing plan

Remember, before all of the people that are down on the owners share pile on (and I know I'm one of those). Both of these teams pay heavily into the luxury tax. Every penny they put into a new stadium gets deducted from their share of the luxury tax. So there is a big financial plus for their contri...

None of us are putting in 50 mil like Lamar, of course none of us own a football team that make 30-40 mil in profit a year. A profit that will go ...

Bill James has all but proven that lineup orders have no real effect on the outcome of the game.

It's the first week of April. Shouldn't talk playoffs or 100 losses for another three weeks. Everybody needs to settle down.

Thanks for the great photos. Awesome as usual.

Don't understand why you have to take pot shots at religion. Tolerance is a two way street....with long, pedestrian friendly signal cycles.

Just let the empty stadiums decay. They we would be one step closer to being the Rome of the new world, fountains AND our own version of the Coliseum.

Re: BURY THE HATCHET!

Does the Rock Island line still have tracks on it?  Where does it hit the KCMO City Limits? Tracks are still there all the way to 59th (Where Raytown took out a dilapidated bridge) but they are in bad shape after 25 years. But the grade, right-of-way and base are the expensive parts. Tracks are che...

Webster Groves, Mo is the poster child for this type of development. Little 1950s cape cods with a huge home next door. And when it happens the cape cod's property taxes usualy go up 50-75%. Talk about adding insult to injury.

Sounds like a plan to me. Make it self funding off of fee's and fines, and the sale of forfeited property.

Couldn't this just be a portion to a beefed up codes division?

Re: BURY THE HATCHET!

How about a NS line from DT Indy, down sterling to Blue Ridge, all the way out to Hickman. with a couple of cross connections at truman, 31st, 63rd, and 87th that tie into the current Max line.
