Re: The Obama Administration

I am no expert, but if you didn't have an annual fee, mighten you have been better off keeping the account permenantly open with a 0$ balance?  I think closing ten years of your good credit history can cause a pretty steep hit to your rating. i don't know that it will cause a hit, but it won't help...

new stuff today!  don't know what just yet, but probably includes imacs.

also, Apple released earnings results yesterday, with profits up 46% year over year.  they sold heaps of iphones and ipods, and mac sales were up 17%.

Re: TimeWarnerCable may pass satellite in HD channels

Correct?  I must still have TWC Digital HD but I won't need the box. you won't get the HD w/o a cable card.  apparently comcast sends non-premium channels over the wire with basic, but afaik time warner does not.  i have an antenna for OTA channels.  it looks great.  but it's not HGTV, ESPN, etc. I...

Re: TimeWarnerCable may pass satellite in HD channels

this is kind of a tangent, but interesting if you're in to the DIY DVR box. i wanted a DVR but didn't want an expensive cable tier and rental DVR box, so i made my own. i bought a little HD tuner box (no cable card at this point, so just basic cable and over-the-air) called HD HomeRun that has two v...

Somebody forget to feed the hamster that powers the forum server again? the server the site is hosted on went down this morning around 9:45.  it's (obviously) back up, but there's some work being done on it.  they said they were done an hour ago, but it's still slow, so it's possible something is s...

Re: Documentary about KC downtown revival

anyone else notice there wasn't much discussion of how this project was funded / developed?  the whole thing seemed very "happy" to me.  don't get me wrong--i really, really liked the show.  but it seemed kind of like "Kansas City:  A Love Story."  not enough about _how_ the rede...

go ahead and report any off-topic posts in individual threads and they'll get split off.  the "report this post" isn't reserved only for offensive posts, it's for anything that needs some kind of attention. as for the currently active obama threads, i think they're ok.  but if you see any ...
