Re: OFFICIAL - Performing Arts Center construction

The original plan was to have a little retail-strip building at the south end of the property, next to the Webster house.  It would have tied it to the community better, stretching the retail from 18th northward.  They should allow a developer to pay for and control it, but use the architect's origi...

Grinders looked cool on TV. :)  It was cool in the beginning of the show when they showed Guy driving downtown with the skyscrapers and the arena in the background.  The city looked good!

I like it, although it would be cooler if it was taller.  Will make a nice border to the park.

They may be waiting to install the new lighting on the P+L until they do their big renovation there.  Would be bad idea to install the lighting, then have to remove it for facade cleaning in the near future.

here is a close up pic of the NE corner.  I really like the windows, they look classy.  It seems a bit squat, but I like it nonetheless.

Re: P&L District: 13th & Baltimore site proposal

I think a lot of you are speaking too soon .  Unless all the stores west of the H+R block building are going to be empty, Cordish has some announcements coming.  They have announced one tenet for that area, Jos A. Banks, but that was announced long ago.  All the rest of those little retail spots (8 ...

Re: P&L District: 13th & Baltimore site proposal

Most of the shopping/retail has not been revealed...also some pretty huge spaces have not been announced on the 'food side' of the development.  The space east of the Bristol comes to mind...it is freaking huge, large enough for the hard rock cafes of the world.  Big announcements ahead I'm sure.  T...

Hammerpress's new home

Hammerpress recently moved to a high profile location on SW Blvd (new since I was in KC in May...) It's an awesome store/studio that offers great printed items like posters and postcards.  They have designed many concert posters for various bands that have had concerts in KC...these posters are awes...
