Re: Status and future of the River Market area??
I have never felt safe in them there are just to many rapes for a lady to feel safe. Now what I like is angled parking on the street that is real easy. But the easiest is just find a good big parking lot and your all set. I do not agree with you Chris on the parking lots I think they are just fine. ...

Re: Status and future of the River Market area??
They are ruining River market with all these new buildings. Parking down there is getting to be a night mare. I don't do too good with parallel parking so I have to drive around until I find something. And before any body says something about parking garages I do not park in them. As a lady I do not...

I wonder why they put some of these things over there. Many things in that area fail and close soon after opening. I think these places would be better in safer areas like the Plaza.

Re: 3rd & Grand to be redeveloped as TOD
Sorry everybody I was out of town. My goodness I did not mean no offense I thought the term oriental was fine for an adjective. Like oriental furniture or oriental food. I shop in that market when I am down there and I enjoy it. I love trying all the different spices and things. I asked for some sug...

What will happen to that Oriental market? I like to go there to get kimchi. How will people shop there if they take up that lot?

Somebody was asking who is coming to these hotels so I was answering that question. Well I did not say cowboy hats I said cowboy boots. Many people wear boots for there regular shoes. I see them all the time at power and light and the aquarium.

Re: 50s/Main development
I see a lot of cowboys in cowboy boots marching around downtown. Lots of people from the country in MO and KS come to Kansas City for things at the Power and Light and for a trip to the city. That is who is staying in them hotels.

I don't shop at those places. I do Walmart usually and save my money in my IRA and for investment properties.

A lot of people that come into Kansas City are country types, whether you all want to admit it of not. They want to see stuff like that. Kansas City isn't a cosmopolitan city that attracts high end tourists.

I don't see this working out too good. Who in the world would want to live down there? There could be floods, I heard there were many floods down there and really the area looks like there isn't too much going on with all the vacant places.

I say if they want their own street lets give it to them. I think it is a good idea and no body goes down that road anymore anyway.
