Re: What could the city do to Downtown Parks to improve them?
I think the north lawn of the liberty memorial would make a great place for a rose garden/botanical garden area. Three years ago they used the north lawn as a natural ampetheature for a concert called "rock fest". I thought at the time, maybe they wanted to keep the lawn free of flowers a...

The North law of the THE NATIONAL MUSEUM OF WWI (Liberty Memoral) should be a flower park of some sort, with a French theme. Either a grand French garden or a field of poppies as a homage to Flanders Field.

Re: Random Pictures of Kansas City
Hopefully in that picture you will see (in the future) the western tower of Wellington Place... I love public art. We need even more of it. We should create a public art park. Take a piece of Penn Valley park and use it for this :) The Nelson is considered to be one of the premier outdoor modern sc...

Do you have source?mean wrote: I can't speak for OSHA, but the EPA has a budget just like every other federal agency. Each region gets a certain dollar figure from Papa Fed based on a huge laundry list of factors. To my knowledge, none of those factors is how much they collected in fines.

Re: Omaha hoping to get Big XII tourney
No. Let me correct you. Here's the attendance numbers for the NFL for the last 5 years. As you can see Dallas is in the lower 1/3 every year whether you go by actual bodies or percentage of seating capacity. In other words, they aren't even selling out the tiny little stadium they have now. htt...

This is why they have jobs for inmates in prison. To much idle time and energy result in social unrest.
We need more development news.
On the other hand it's gotten to the point that even new news results in this type of breakdown.

We should explore high-preassure sewer systems that can also shoot people through them to their destination. First Laugh-out-loud moment I've had on the board in a while. Visions of Augustus Gloop dancing in my head. Incidentally seeing him stuck in that pipe disturbed me deeply as a child. My son....

I was referring to the "Black Knight" in the "Holy Grail". Even after you had cut off his arms and legs he would still keep fighting and screaming, denying that he had lost and that you were the chicken for walking away. Until you cut off his head.

Re: Billions needed to fix KC Sewers - EPA may fine KC millions
Isn't the EPA suing all these cities to collect fines counterproductive?  If the cities have to pay massive fines to the EPA, that becomes even less money they have for dealing with the problem. EPA like OSHA is self funded. They pay their bills from the fines they impose and collect. Think abou...

Re: Mass Transit in KC
Development follows Fixed rail. If KC wants the Northland to explode along the I-29 corridor put in the line to the airport like they should have done 30 years ago. Northland is fertile ground, this would be the catalyst it needs. It will pay for itself in residents/business it steals from JoCo. Thi...

Don't want to sound racist by why don't they just call the Yellow line the Black line? Does it really need to turn like that to go through the most historically black parts of town? Just seams racially motivated to me. Next Line: Best thing for the City: Orange Line Best thing for those who use it: ...
