Re: TIME TO FREAK OUT AGAIN ABOUT CONFERENCE REALIGNMENT! THE BIG 12 IS DEAD! MAYBE!
Colorado seems like they could announce any day now, & the border states would all follow them easily. Just a matter of time after that disastrous press conference from the commissioner last Friday.

Re: Status and future of the River Market area??
The people moving into, and living within, the environment are taking the challenge to change how they commute. We have to stop subsidizing our cities for the suburbs to come in, party, then leave. Don't cater to them as much.

I think I remember hearing when I was there that they're just replacing the old screens with OLEDs.

Re: New Chiefs Stadium
Nah, that really read like a "Royals really need to GTFO so we can start our new life without them next door" type comments. My take on it might have been that they could do it with or without the Royals so they need to hurry up if they want to do it together.

Re: Grand Blvd Closures
It isn’t a complex issue if you understand one fact: cordish and the city take the lazy way out. My downtown friends will know that closing Grand hasn’t stopped the sideshows, they’ve stopped them next to cordish property. If the goal was to push them further away from cordish, it’s a job well acco...

I thought that concept burned itself out in 2011. I seem to remember another concept locally that never ended up opening at all long long ago.

They are frozen doughnuts though. Always been a bit disappointed by that.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
People hold it, Dodger Stadium, & Angel Stadium in the same regard of highly renovated 60s baseball only parks, built in the style of the cookie cutter. They actually turned out a lot better than the multiuse ones. But I feel like no one would really fight too hard to replace all 3, not the same...

Re: Drive Thru @ 520 Southwest Blvd.
I don't think a single one of the out of the box franchise designs Whataburger has would possibly ever fit into that space. The ones here have those stupid Chick-Fil-A style drive thrus with multiple lanes. Only looks to me like a Scooter's or Dutch Bros could really make anything work in that spot ...

Re: Hot Rocks Pizza
My whole family got food poisoning from here. Worst I've ever had in my life. I'll never return. Pizza wasn't that good anyways. A 4 1/2 star rating on Yelp. Apparently the overwhelming majority disagree. Yelp isn't the be all, end all people think. Everyone is allowed their opinion & they don'...

Yeah, I'll be glad to rid myself of the usual thing I hear from other baseball fans from around the globe. "You've got a great baseball stadium for a bad team in the middle of a disastrous interstate highway."

Re: Martini Corner near 31st/Gilham
Don't know what you're talking about on the Uptown, they've had a great last year with more to come. I think I've got tickets to like 3 upcoming shows there & I rarely go to concerts. American Idol era has-beens and tribute bands is all I see. I honestly haven't been to that venue for several y...

Re: Martini Corner near 31st/Gilham
I have to admit that I haven't been the new Record Bar location (I know, it's not really "new") but I wonder if this would be a better location that would allow larger shows, perhaps a partnership with the new developer? Mammoth books Crossroads KC and the Granada in LFK... they will book...

Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The farm is depleted & there are serious fundamental issues between the way the players are managed vs the way they're treated elsewhere. It's shocking how many guys have left to immediate success elsewhere. They are in a very seriously bad rut. They hit the rebuild alarm at the end of 2017 &...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
The rolling roof is a boondoggle that will scare people away from the deal but I could honestly see them try one last time. I'm not interested, can't afford SB tix & so many other things should take precedent over additional financing for a silly roof for a once in a blue moon event.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Can somebody walk me through the economics of abandoning the Jackson Co. money? Or does this remain a gambit to make sure JaCo voters renew the tax so as to not "lose" the Royals. I mean it's either the riskiest move they could make by alienating KC/Jackson County, or it really was just a...

Natural grass & I think they're not looking at other tenants because they mainly want concerts. Poor field will get wrecked the first few years, SKC's took like 5 years to take root.
