Re: A day in Lawrence
My wife, newborn daughter, and I walked Mass Street for a few hours yesterday. Lots going on. Lots of new restaurants and stores. Several stores appear to have been recently renovated. We had drinks @ 715 - Which were great. The menu looks fantastic. We were there with about 5 or 6 other tables...

Re: Grilling advice
For the planks - you can go to Home Depot and purchase UNTREATED Cedar Fencing - Then just have one of the dudes cut it into 8 to 10 inch chunks for you. The focus is on untreated wood. The chemicals and such in the treated lumber will likely make the food taste terrible, or worse, make you sick. ...

Outfitting a new building
Our family business has just finished our new building (in Tulsa). Its a warehouse style building with open floor plans, exposed brick interiors, stained cement floors and hickory wood throughout. It has all the vents and plumbing exposed in the ceilings. Its really pretty similar to many of the ...

I am in NYC right now and the former KC residents (grew up in Prairie Village, college @ KU) were inquiring how it was going. It helps that the girl's dad has a view from his office and updates her frequently.

Re: Wireless Modem/Router (All in One)
I'm not sure whether Time Warner is going to be too keen on letting a foreign modem on their network. They might, but I've never tried. I'm pretty sure you'll at least need to call them and get your new device's MAC cleared. Per their customer support chat folks, these are approved for their networ...

Wireless Modem/Router (All in One)
I want to get a new modem/router combo. I have seen quite a few of these on the web and was wondering if anyone has any experience (positive or negative) with them. Also, I am on TimeWarner downtown, if that matters. Our router is pretty old and we are want to tuck it away as we are making room f...

Re: Succotash
We went this morning, and it was the usual. Shitty service, funky people, and great breakfast. We have friends that come in and demand that we go for each of their visits, and we are totally fine with going, we just expect these things a plan for it and this makes for a better overall experience. ...

Local iPhone Repair Shop - Mission Repair
Anyone used these guys? $100 to replace broken iPhone LCD's. Website seems legit and what I can find about them on the web seems positive. Of course, its the web... Would use Apple, but they have about a 2 week wait to get a phone in for a repair, and both my wife and I need our phones sooner th...

By far, the best part of the movie was the ending. Not because of how good the ending was, but because I got to get the heck out of the theater and begin the process of forgetting that piece of a movie.

Re: Does anyone else see (or hear) this: F-14 over KC???
Its highly unlikely that it was an F-14 - They were retired a number of years ago and most are sitting around or have been taken apart. As for an F-22, I really hope it was one, because they are badass and KC needs one, just in case. I was playing golf @ the National yesterday in Parkville and saw a...

The huge John Brown painting was hilarious. It was up during most breaks in the game and on the big screen over center court. I do not think that they showed it on the broadcast.

old school. if you wanna try something new, try not cooking the holy shit out of your pork. eat it MW or so, you will like it better. Get pork tenderloin, pan sear (please good a good non-stick pan), over roast @ 400 for about 8 more mins until about 155 to 158 degrees in the thickest part, rest, s...

Hot chicks in High Heels at the Downtown Grocery store. There must be a God. Get those cameras at the ready. I forgot to mention this. Sunday at about noon I went to get the goods to make chili. Tons of good looking females, all ages. Lots shopping and lots sitting in the lower seating area drin...

I used the free online study aides @ http://www.gmac.com/gmac/thegmat/testtakersupport/gmattestprepmaterials.htm Granted this was right after I graduated from KU. It was free and really helpful. I highly recommend that you use this as it is the exact same thing as the test (format, questions, etc....

Re: George Brett's to become Brazilian Steakhouse
I went 2 nights ago. Unbelievable. Great food, great service, great wine. Got a great tour of the place including a lot of behind the scenes stuff. Focus on the meat. Salad bar really is good, but go really light on this stuff. They do have a good assortment or meat and cheeses. Its really no...
