Thanks for sharing! Was Iceland your ultimate destination on both trips? If you were continuing through to mainland Europe, do you think you would have rather connected through Reykjavik or a US airport?

Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)
I think 5th avenue is in trouble...I just found 3 Duane Reade pharmacy within the same area of the plaza....and one is right next to the Burberry and LV. Gasp, 5th Avenue is now trashy. Michigan Ave has many drugstores as well. The problem with using Michigan Ave as point of comparison is that it i...

Oh, I didn't realize Gillig or New Flyer made electric busses.
That makes sense. I'm sure it will make everything a lot easier to stick with the same company.

KCATA will start buying battery electric buses: https://twitter.com/RideKCTransit/status/999348119677685760 Currently, the fleet is less than half compressed natural gas. The rest is diesel. The new vehicles should be on the ground in 2019. Have they decided on a vendor? Or are the two busses going...

Re: Rankings, lists, and such
Bike score update: Some cities fell in the rankings. Because the Bike Score algorithm no longer counts road shoulders as bike lanes, Kansas City (Missouri), Atlanta, and Las Vegas all saw significant score drops. (Detailed methodology is available here.) https://nextcity.org/daily/entry/these-are-th...

Re: Black leaders seek to rename Paseo to MLK Blvd
Can I nominate Madison, SW Trafficway, and Belleview for this honor...maybe I can hate it a little less. It does have an intersection of three roads... Maybe we could redo all of these streets as part of the renaming. Renaming them as is would feel like kind of an insult. Still, none of those stree...

Re: OFFICIAL - ARTerra (21st and Wyandotte)
A yellow beige is indeed the final color https://www.arterrakc.com/Gallery.aspx When I saw that picture before, and I thought the brick was dark, but now that I see it again I realize it was beige/tan in all those renderings. Tricky. I was pretty disappointed the first time I saw it, but now I'm gi...

Re: OFFICIAL - ARTerra (21st and Wyandotte)
The brick is going up. It looks like a beige color. They may plan to stain it or something, otherwise it will be a pretty big departure from the concept.

Re: Bike Lanes
Drove paseo this week and imagined how cool a bike track would be ...be like a bike superhighway to anywhere I would ever want to go on a bike. Agreed. the paseo would be a really nice ride, and as a bonus, it has the most gradual slope of any of the north/south streets between downtown and midtown...

Re: Bike Lanes
I read somewhere that the striping will be completed in a couple weeks.
Having no buffer is a bigger problem than I anticipated, but at least no one is parking in the actual bike lane.

Re: Status and future of the River Market area??
I got the impression that the new Delaware building was going to be more of a market than a food hall, like the Minneapolis Midtown Global Market or the Milwaukee Public Market.

Re: Bike Lanes
Physically protected bike lanes would help but is still baffling to me that Grand was chosen for main bike path when it is also a major bus route. I use Walnut instead and have noticed others do too. The car I saw was on the new Armour Blvd. lanes, but it is a problem on Grand as well. I think that...

Re: Bike Lanes
I already saw a car in the bike lane yesterday- they were loading something up in their car. The parking spaces aren't fully painted though- maybe with the buffer, cars will do a better job of respecting the bike lanes.

Its interesting that they are investing in the Main Max stops, considering that it will require some reconfiguration after the streetcar is extended. Also, did anyone notice the ticket vending machines?? That's a pretty big deal, I'm surprised is was't mentioned in the article. edit: I see kcjak did...

Re: Bike Lanes
People also drive a lot faster with wider lanes. I know I'm guilty of that. (Literally- I recently got a ticket on a frontage road with lanes wider than freeway lanes.) They should also get rid of the double yellow line in the center. I don't have any evidence, but I feel that that causes people to ...

Re: KC Bike share
I've been to a couple of cities with dockless bike share in the last few weeks, and the bikes are remarkably orderly. That's probably the same everywhere, but the one time that a bike is parked in the middle of the sidewalk or something, people blow it out of proportion and focus on that one instance.
