Re: COVID19
If businesses of all sizes suffer, all the people who work for them will, too. So then will tax money, which is all the governments have to help families and individuals who have lost income.

Re: COVID19
All this reminds me of the 1951 movie, The Day the Earth Stood Still. If you are stuck at home and have never seen this movie, you might want to check it out. It is a classic. Many of my peers still remember the three alien words that must be uttered to avoid being zapped.

My mother did the same thing, FangKC. She picked up her rather large, lacy-looking rocks 120 miles south of St. Louis, where her parents owned many acres, which they worked. She had four brothers and four sisters. All of the resulting relatives referred to it as "The Farm." Back to Arkansa...

I just did a Google search to see if kayaking was possible on the Buffalo River and discovered that it is! You can check buffaloriver dot com for more information. From what I saw on that site, we saw only a tiny fraction of the possibilities.

Hi, Highlander. Yes, it is the Buffalo River. My son said it is the Roark Bluff on the Buffalo River. The day I took these pictures was 7/31/19. We went to another part of the river on that same day. Pictures will eventually follow.

Re: GO CHIEFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ever since I noticed Patrick Mahomes on a sports bar TV early in the 2018 season, I have never missed a Chiefs game--on TV. Along the way, I noticed the skills of other folks, such as Andy Reid, Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce, Tyrann Mathiew, Terrell Suggs, Damien Williams, Sammy Watkins, Mecole Hardman,...

I wish everyone could have seen that gigantic Pontiac sign at night. It had a gazillion lights that would perform an impressive show in waves and flickers. People referred to its location as Signboard Hill. Thank you for posting a wonderful memory.

Again. Nothing? How many people switched off CBS last night after the horrific first quarter between the Chiefs and Texans? I joked about doing so. Then the second quarter exploded. How could this have happened? Bam! Bam! Bam! Never count out the Chiefs. 51-31. Love it. Can't wait for next Sunday!

Re: Grand Avenue Temple
That brings back memories. I remember attending Youth for Christ rallies every Saturday night at Grand Avenue Temple in the late 1950s and early 1960s. I always sat in the upper right balcony. We'd stop by the restaurant, Roy and Ray's, afterwards for hamburgers, although I wanted to maintain my 90-...

It seems perfectly fast for me, but then I'm old and creaky. You will need to wait for the younger guys who can jump through hoops. (Is that even a thing anymore?)

Re: Postcards From the Edge of Time
Thank you, Mr. Gentleman. I do so remember how beautiful downtown was during the holiday season. I'm in my mid-70s now, but when I was a little girl, visiting all the big stores during that time was magical. Emery, Bird and Thayer, Kline's, Macy's, Peck's, Jone's, Harzfeld’s. Yes, big, bright, light...
