Re: 2023 KCMO Election
I mock people who don't explain their reasoning. It's perfectly OK to be against everything, but hopefully there's some thought and/or evidence behind it that's deeper than "things aren't the way they used to be, and that makes me uncomfortable". https://www.jasonfeifer.com/build-for-tomo...

Re: World Cup 2026 at Arrowhead?
This is a general post, not directed at anybody here. I Just keep hearing this idea of running trams to the sports complex. I'm kind of a transit nerd, but maybe I'm missing something as to how in the world that would make any sense. I bet the single most important route for this event will be airp...

Re: World Cup 2026 at Arrowhead?
One FIFA official that was interviewed on the radio yesterday said their #1 priority in selecting sites is the stadium where the games will be played - if the stadium and field aren't top quality, it's a non-starter. Arrowhead is the 4th largest stadium of the 17 host cities and already plays on na...

Re: Bike Lanes
I'm guessing this is about priorities in that District. Residents might feel the City should be spending on repairing sidewalks and picking up bulky items from neighborhoods more quickly. I see this complaint regularly on the neighborhood's Facebook page. Residents don't feel installing bike lanes ...

Re: World Cup 2026 at Arrowhead?
With streetcar Plaza extension running by then they could simply run constant buses from Union Station, which would essentially cover all hotels along the line. P&L/Live would be closer to I70, another gathering point option. Again, this is a horrible idea. The train can't possibly hold the cap...

Re: World Cup 2026 at Arrowhead?
I'm sure they did, but I really hope they show the FIFA officials the new airport so it can be made very clear that the piece of shit they arrived won't be the 2026 airport for players. The idea that they wouldn't know this well before arriving is so unlikely that it shouldn't have been on the list...

Re: Phase Three Streetcar Expansion
The due dilligence was already done when NextRail study was completed and the Trolly Trail was deemed the most feasible. Anyways just sharing this for no particular reason that I saw on Twitter the Streetcar account responded to. Cool yes, but more development potential elsewhere. They *only* studi...

This chunk is likely much smaller than one willing to vote yes to keep the team.normalthings wrote: ↑Wed Oct 20, 2021 11:59 am Yes they would. A growing chunk is anti public support for stadiums. Building a Cadillac stadium on the public dime is a main argument against public support.

Re: Phase Three Streetcar Expansion
I live very close to that pink route, I think it would be really hard to do it because Oak is only a single lane street with a bunch of stop signs. When it’s rush hour, it gets extremely backed up there. It’s probably better to go somewhere where there’s more than one lane. Complaining there's too ...

That's not bad. If this route would get built I wouldn't fight over any of those three ideas getting built.
