Re: WTF is with these psychos.
I predict that eventually Fred Phelps will have a rendezvous with a bullet between his eyes. I don't wish death on anybody, but if someone shot him, I would laugh. I'd be willing to bet if someone did, that the prosecuters would all turn their heads the other way. Also, I hear they protest dead so...

This is just part of it. "WBC engages in daily peaceful sidewalk demonstrations opposing the homosexual lifestyle of soul-damning, nation-destroying filth. We display large, colorful signs containing Bible words and sentiments, including: GOD HATES FAGS, FAGS HATE GOD, AIDS CURES FAGS, THANK GO...

Re: OFFICIAL: 17 story Crossroads condo tower (was: Big Vacancy in the Crossroads)
I find it funny that we complain that we don't have the skyline to compare to other cities of our size. Yet, we get someone that wants to build a midrise building and everybody starts screaming that its too tall, it will block my view. Does this hick bullshit of "Oh my god your building will bl...

where the best schools and most valuable real estate is in the older areas. Yeah, look at Mission Hills. Enormous houses, but those aren't McMansions, those are the real deal. Some of those houses are so huge that you can't tell me that those people living there use every room. I bet some rooms go...

Re: The backlash against McMansions
I agree that everything is EGO driven anymore. Society is so fucked up, its not who you are it's what you have nowdays. I don't know how many times ive heard the saying "your a nobody because you dont have this, this and this." Thats why everybody has to have the best of everything anymore...

Re: The backlash against McMansions
If people want a tacky house with 30ft ceilings thats obviously an opinion based deal so whos to tell them no? Just because you and I don't like 30ft ceilings doesn't mean that someone else shouldn't have it. Same deal is those people that drive huge SUV's that have no kids nor any other use for it ...

Re: The backlash against McMansions
true, not to mention large, expensive houses is a tell tale sign that the metro is doing good and flourishing.
If it wasn't there would be small, ran down houses, apparently thats what the tree huggers that are backlashing the large, nice houses want.

Re: The backlash against McMansions
This is just going to turn into a big morality debate. Just like the hummers did. You drive a gas guzzling hummer that pollutes the earth is the same as saying your building a huge unneeded house that wastes space and is killing our natural wildlife and blah blah. It's a personal thing, nothing will...

Interesting article, nice find. Kind of put me in the shoes of a chicagoian for a second. I like my short drive and less cramped area here.
I think I about shit myself when that guy said he pays $18 a day to park.

Re: What part of the metro do you know the least?
I don't know the Northeast side very well. Northland is kind of spotty, I know the more well known roads and highways. Don't know Eastern Independence, Blue springs hardly at all. I've been on I-470 maybe twice now in my life and the most recent time a while back I got lost after turning off on an ...

Well... we're halfway to Topeka. Won't be long we'll have to annex Topeka in a few years.
Which is pretty sad. If Western KCK was growing at the pace of southern JoCo it would be one of those oh shit scenerios.

Re: Royal Kansas Citian Mounted Police
Horses are much better than bicycles. Those bicycles poop all over the street, smell, cost a lot of money to buy, cost of lot of money to take care of, can be stingy, and are too difficult to get on/off. Good thing we invented the horse....oh wait, am I getting something mixed up? Hey genius, They ...
