Re: We need a new airport!!!
That's a good point for the money cost.
The city should investigate using similar shopping fees to keep ticket costs down. I haven't seen this mentioned by the city yet.
It could be similar to the car rental or hotel tax.

More please! One way is Businesses can form a TDD and draw the lines to exclude residents in the vote. This would be very easy if a majority of property owners are on board. Theres possibly drawbacks where the total length would be less, but the benefit money on the ground quickly. We could start b...

With the Herford site, a companion building that replaces the south wall could work well. Varying fronts and a seamless interiorbeautyfromashes wrote:Why tear it down? It could be a nice building.

Not necessarily. The original land lowering did away with any early history and the rail yard prep would have done away with a lot after thattaxi wrote:I wonder if they'll find anything cool. I imagine there's a lot of history in that dirt.

Less generously, it was just a shitty re-design, with a lot of flaws that should have been foreseen. There was some of that, and the tight depth has a lot to do with that. I bet renovations would already be underway if the airport were the exact same design but twice as deep. There's claims that in...

I will accept a substandard design for their taking on a hard location. Pick your battles and all that.

Of course we are. Why do you imagine we're building a new terminal? Because there's no other way to add some toilets behind the security partitions? A related question Do you think they were purposefully left post security restrooms out of the last renovation? Unlike eating that's kind of a short t...

Voted Depends. Stops at every stop until the system (and people) are "broken in" with data showing stop usage. I'm assuming that data will be collected. Then the infrequent use stops can be request only. Do this. Once it's been determined that a stop will not be made automatically, use th...

Re: Politics
One thought had is why do cities not do bulk orders? What is the politics that makes this not happen? The streetcar we piggybacked on another city's order so we know it's possible at some level. So why couldn't cities form a MARC type of group that finds ways to get better pricing on the basics This...

Re: POLL: Requesting streetcar stops?
I can see not stopping if the train is empty and no one is waiting. That's easy. But how do you validate someone isn't waiting? This seems destined to create people who feel the train isn't working and shouldn't be expanded. "I was sitting on the wall drinking my coffee and reading my paper and...

Re: Historic Old Northeast
I hate all the double Paseo intersections from Indep to 9th. Only when you get to 10th and have some space to turn and wait do they work. Combining all of those each into one intersection would improve car safety too, not just pedestrian safety. right now it's possible to try and turn left and be st...

Crying over spilt milk. Maybe so, but this is important dialog to influence changes to the way we do things in this city. If we don't talk about it and analyze it, we are more likely to make the same mistake the next time we have this opportunity. This is very true. We need to find what works well ...

Re: POLL: Requesting streetcar stops?
The downside to not stopping is people might not be standing AT the stop and the train doesn't slow down and they're walking to it and are almost there when it rolls right by. This could be especially true in weather at the stops with no cover. But I can see the benefit of not stopping. I like the i...

They should shut down main the length of the route and then let two streetcars race the entire length starting from the edge of river market where the dual track starts down to US. Lets see what these things can do! That's not half bad. And decorate them for each state in the area One with Kansas d...
